It's days like today that I appreciate having set up my home office years ago. And after the kids were born, I got into the habit of bringing home the laptop every night because you never know when someone is going to get sick in the middle of the night and need you to stay home the next day.
So I can sit here with my dual monitors and morning coffee, knowing the Citrix connection works (although O365 sure helps too), and watch the world burn.
I'm usually out of the house and gone before the kids even wake up, so the days where I sit at home in my jammies and watch them get bundled up to walk to school in the snow is just an added bonus!
Word is ENB is working from home after today, downtown will be a ghost town.
Did you snicker as they wanted out into this crap? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Perfect! Then the safest place to be is downtown. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My years of unemployment, and the financial troubles of previous employers, including getting locked out of our offices, have prepared me well for this. I can work from anywhere. Although, it's not like I use any special software or need a fast computer. Chrome, outlook, excel and acrobat are all I've opened in months.
Then again:

Basically any meeting I have with Suncor sponsors, I have to come into the office for. Tried doing one remotely this morning and my suncor laptop was basically a paperweight.
Shame, because my company is built to work remotely; everything works just about perfect, per usual.
Result will probably be coming into the office for a couple hrs a day for key meetings and wfh the rest of the time.
Never said it did... Why does everybody think pointing out facts commits you to one side or the other? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My girlfriend told me today they are down 3 workers for their warehouse staff because they were in 3rd party contact to someone who tested positive. Concerns of smaller offices/businesses being affected is a real issue that is being undermined by the fact everyone is raging over toilet paper.
In fact her boss has HIDDEN the toilet paper and its on a ask if needed basis because of fear of people stealing it.
I'm already seeing MLM huns post memes that say "Everyone hates on direct selling until they lose their job to corona virus shutdowns and wish they had a business they could run from home".
So I'm expecting another wave of recruitment DMs like with the 2015 oil crash.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

Work quarantined me after flying back from the states.
But I already bought a dell dock and changed my setup to be dual source. Screw communting. Also skype sucks. Use teams.
quat
You like Teams? I need to figure out what I'm goin to use with my team for the year. I've used Zoom, Gsuite (which I loved), skype and Teams. I don't know what's best in a corporate environment. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
