The drug is for what is called "compassionate use" which is basically for people to try if they are probably going to die anyway. I don't know the exact reasons Trump was given it obviously, but that is what the drug is used for under normal circumstances.


Re: Workplace discussion. At this point I'd just be happy if people wore masks above their chins and didn't pack elevators with more than 4 people and joke about it....

My company asked for volunteers to go back mid Sept. They wanted roughly 30% occupancy. I decided to keep working from home until January at least. Now that kids are in school, lot less distraction and actually can get more done than when in office.

I consider Dexamethasone to be petty mainstream. Kids get it routinely for croup. Hell I could barely stop doctors from prescribing it my one kid for a couple years.

Dexamethasone is just another corticosteroid, same as prednisone, millions take it every year. I've taken it off and on for Lupus for the last 10 years, and so have dozens of other Lupus/autoimmune affected people I know.

wife also in a midstream company, she's told her department is going back to the office 2 days a week starting mid November.

Our company is allowing up to 35% back for our "phase 2" return to office plan. Completely voluntary though...my gut feel is they won't have enough people wanting to come back to hit 35%.

Well our work has a text message you need to respond to before going into the office with a a,b,c type scenario.

Scenario 1 is you were exposed to covid
Scenario 2 is you have not been exposed to covid
Scenario 3 is your working from home

The sneaky sneaky text has the a,b,c response change each day to avoid automated responses. I accidentally responded yes instead of no today and our security center went nuts trying to contact me
