I've always found Miatas to be priced at far more than what VMR or CBB suggests...
Maybe you meant expensive ads? That's exactly what a friend of mine did. I don't think he monitored for replies though. He knew his car was a write off, so before he even called insurance, he posted 8 different ads in his area with asking prices all around 3-4k higher than market.
