so how to do health care workers who have children decide what to do? No daycares, no schools - go to work try and save lives or stay home to watch your kids?

I'm sure the number of health care workers (nurses) that have children is way higher than average

I would be very surprised if companies do layoffs this week amongst this mess. Poor form.

They can wait two weeks while the government pays for people to self-quarantine.

I know of a family member who employs a bunch of minimum wage workers that has let go 30% of his workforce in the last four days. If there's no work, there's no jobs, and most companies won't wait.

No, a restaurant like that employs like eight people, mostly family. This is a very different business.

There will be parents in marginal financial situations choosing between employment and leaving thier kids alone for the whole day.
Anyone who doesn't have to make that choice should understand how lucky they are.
This!!! Hasn't it been said that closing schools holds no value? Why aren't we locking down those that are actually high risk, and let it run its course with the majority of us that don't require anything more than netflix and chill.

I was planning to work from home, but that's going to be much harder with my kids at home.

Watch the latest update from province for explanation. It is very clear on their thought process on the decision change.

Whether we agree or not is different story but I am actually surprised they did not announce sooner on Saturday and not Sunday.

After the announcement I volunteered for in office skeleton staffing, benefit of being a dink and can take pressure off the business. We have a ton of staff with young kids in dual income situations.

No kids, no elderly parents or grandparents, no major social gathering I am a part of. It’s easy for me to “take the bullet”.

She is the best imo compared to all the other province medical chiefs. Well composed, calm, articulate.

She's a bot. The glasses cover her lifeless mechanical eyes. That's the only way to explain it.

I think the appeal of sex with robots in general is more appealing now. Not just with that particular bot....

Thinking this will be life in the near future for the wife and I, my company is already work from home but all of our coworkers have kids.

We shut down office for 2 days anyway while dust settles. Will see what happens Wednesday.
