I'm hoping to pick up a new bar in the spring. I want to get a rogue Ohio Power Bar in either SS, or cerakote, to replace my current no name one. I'd also like to replace my "looks like it's from the 80s" rack with a nice one with straps instead of bars for safeties.
Ironmaster is doing a new round of lottery for their adjustable DBs. I entered, but not sure if I'll buy if I get in, but a buddy is interested in my lot if I don't.

I'm mostly setup, and still go to the gym as well.
Just wondering what is the difference between at "no name" bar vs the rogue one. Are you overloading the no name bar?

Knurling will be the first thing you notice, some no name bars are chrome plated, flex as well weight rating are next. Some cheap bars are held together with allen head bolts on each end. Once you start getting picky you can get a bar based off your needs like Power or Olympic lifting.

I guess my cheap bar that is held together with allen head bolts is so ghetto Oh well it does what I need it do, hold the weight that I can put on it without bending.

Or how the second hand market is still super overpriced. I'd expected to see prices to start to crater, but people are still asking ridiculous amounts.
Starting to think I should resell my Concept2 rower. I received it in June, but it's still in the box.

Wait till they close gyms, then ask double, lol.

Nope never said ghetto, just mentioned the more cost friendly ones are held by allen head bolts which tend to back off after time, maintenance is key for those bars

I've been on the hunt for either a half rack or full rack but man either they sell fast or the used market is nuts.

Missed a full rack for $250 today

As other's stated, it's a few things. My no-name bar is chrome plated, and while the knurling is pretty agressive, it's not in the way that I like. Additional things like bushings will make a difference.
I'm seeing a lot of flex on heavy DL/Squat. It's actually not bad for a no-name bar, as it doesn't have allen heads, but uses pins for the sleeves, so it's difficult to do maintenance on.

I specifically want one for power lifting, with a higher tensile strength, and whip. My current bar is 28.5mm which is fine, and within IPF specs, but the new bar is 29mm, and 200k tensile strength, so less whip. Lifetime warranty and better bushings are also a bonus.
I'd keep the old bar around for circuit lifting, and rack pulls. Nothing worse than dropping your fancy barbell onto steel safeties and crush the knurling.

That's why I just say I have a 4" dick and lift weights to make up for it.

Over the past few month or so of building up my basement gym, I've built and modified some stuff to make things better for me. I thought I would share what I've done and ask what have you guys may have done.

Been finding it a pain pulling the bar in and out of the rack all the time when I want it out of the way. It's up high enough that I can't hit my head off of it walking around ether.

Got a dual pulley system top and bottom and this way I can use single point attachments.

Plate toaster as the rack doesn't have storage on it.

Cause I couldn't find a single rope or something like this around.

I've also built a plyometric box, pull up bar off of one of the beams, and a wooden dumbbell rack for the few dumbbells that I got so far.

Just starting my search but does anyone have a good suggestion for a home treadmill? Probably looking to buy used but not opposed to new. Cheaper the better, likely next to no running as I'm not the running type

Had an echo bike but sold it at the start of the pandemic as I wasn't using it as much as I should of been. Treadmill would get more use in the household.

Not looking for a trackhawk budget, more entry level.
