Is casserole the whole dish itself? Or is it eaten as a side cuz that tuna casserole looks like a whole meal itself? Tator tot casserole?

The whole dish. (Aren't you classically trained?)
I've had something that was basically tater tot casserole and I was sure it would be disgusting, but it was actually decent. I wouldn't swim through shit to get some, but it was better than tolerable.

OmG what is up with the hot dogs in fucking everything?!?!? When we had a nanny who was Canadian from Philippines, I got the kids to ask her to stop! LoL!!
It seems like a white trash thing to do, but instead we'd get this perfect fried rice full of everything we'd ever want... And for some reason slices of wiener!

Let me preface this by saying Tuna casserole is not all that great...

Tuna casserole has to be one of the dishes that has the biggest delta between expectations and reality (which is to actually OK).

I’m sure it tastes fine. But out of all the options of things to eat out there... why choose that

Cheap and filling protein. Feels exotic if you've never seen the ocean. Good use of mayo.

Kind of want to make an elevated tuna casserole... you know, with ingredients that don’t come from cans

But the question still come back to, in the realm of food you can make with good tuna. Why casserole.

    Yup, I mean that’s 100% the reason I haven’t done it

Casserole should be a dish made of leftovers though; so if the day comes when I can’t finish a full filet of tuna, well... perhaps

I’ve contemplated trying out Matty’s recipe for tuna casserole:

That’s what I don’t get about it. Long odds of leftover tuna imo

Yes. As I wrote that I thought "there's probably not week's of training devoted to grilled cheese and tuna casserole"... LoL!! Although I am surprised that more minorities and/or immigrants have not heard of this.
    Which hurts my feeling.
    Which makes you racist.
    LoL!!

If it’s baked in a casserole dish it’s certainly debatable.
