I don't think KD was ever better. It's hard to expect much for $1/box. Still, a staple I'm my childhood and for my kids as well. Most versions of the white cheddar macaroni, including PC brand, seem like nicer noodles to my adult tastes, but whatever.

I realized I was never a huge fan of mac and cheese.

To be honest, most places make it really bland and I feel like if I'm eating a shit load of fat and calories, it should at least taste half decent. I only had a few mac and cheeses in my life where it was actually tasty.

At least with KD, you know what to expect. And it isn't overly oily like places that uses cheeses that make a pool of oil that's nasty. I rather eat macaroni salad.

Not really anything to do with isolation, but had KD and corned beef for lunch today. A taste of my childhood.

Fry that bish up with garlic and some diced potatoes and you got a childhood staple for me!

I believe the KD recipe changed since I was a kid. Much like Fruit Loops where they use fewer chemicals and more hippie bullshit.
The end result is The Spackler visiting your bathroom minutes after eating. No want.

KD did change their recipe, to be more natural (more tumeric, less delicious plastic cheese flavor).

Annies mac and cheese is much better, and only slightly more expensive.

I did "get ahead gravy" last week and then used it on a quick midweek family meal with a Safeway roast chicken. It was excellent. I think I will aim to have gravy in the freezer more often now.

Good idea, easy to reheat and awesome to use in a pinch.

I keep frozen blocks of pesto for this purpose too for a quick pasta dinner.

I have a jar of pesto that seems to last forever in the fridge door. Very handy.

Shredded stale bread + cut up chicken breasts + cream of mushroom soup + broccoli veggie mix stirred up in a baking pan with Parmesan cheese on top = creamy chicken casserole

Never buy this squid snack at Costco. It is coated with corn starch and is so nasty. I ended up frying it instead and making fried rice.

The part of the label that said Shredded Squid Snack told me everything I needed to know about Never Buy.
Too much meat in fried rice, so you're white now.
    LoL!!

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Yes surprisingly good (thankfully). But still will not buy that squid snack again.
I have leftovers and will top it with a fried egg, more green onions and a drizzle of sriracha when I eat it tomorrow.

Its hard to find a good Squid snack. The ones my folks brought back from Taiwan was so good. Sweet. Salty. The ones I buy from H-Mart dont have the same taste. And hella expensive compared to the big bag I got from Taiwan.

Two minute snack: Raw sliced cucumber with lightly toasted sesame seed on top, dipped in Kikkoman soy. Best way to eat cukes.
    Cocoa $10,000 per ton.

An experiment… theme: fresh herbs influence: beef stew

Braised sirloin trimmings in rosemary and thyme infused browned butter, sage and thyme roasted potatoes and zucchini, tempura mushrooms w/herb infused batter. Serviced with a red wine reduction pan sauce.

7/10… mushrooms don’t hold batter well when whole, should have quartered larger ones instead of double battering these little guys whole, ended up too bread-y… braising is stupid… should have sous vide the meat
