Sourdough with bacon, onion, flax, sesame, hemp hearts and sunflower seeds. So far a winner
Sourdough might be my next project lol, how often do you bake?
I don't see myself making more than a loaf a week so maybe store the starter in the fridge?

That is my plan once I know my started works.

using proper water temp today and so far the dough feels much better and already has way better stretch than the first time attempt. Hopefully it will rise well, I am still not too sure on the quality of my starter.

thanks for reminding me to order a better thermometer. i've been estimating temps for my starter so far, hope i haven't fucked it up since the instructions say 85 deg fahrenheit.

Nothing fancy, in order: bacon, onion, rice, green onion, omelette, splash of soy sauce.
Damn is your duplex in Aspen?? Cause theres barely any rice in there, and the rice you do have in there, looks very wet-ish cause its very clumpy. - Gordon Ramsay

Haha, give him a break. The Mexicans call it "gringo rice".

He probably would laugh in our face if tried to smoke some BBQ, lol.

I am using one like this one, https://www.thermoworks.com/600D works pretty good. Though I want a Thermapen https://www.thermoworks.com/Thermapen-Mk4

In quarantine I’m baking once a week, which gets you two loaves. Freeze one (they freeze great after cut up) and then start on one. Feed my starter when I start a new loaf, let it grow for a few hours to wake it up then back in the fridge.

I was given this starter and it has been kind of insane compared to my old one (this one is over 4 yrs old). If anyone wants some, I’ll gladly share provided you come to airdrie to pick it up after I feed

You guys aren't wrong, I had white guy rice problems. I've never done "great" fried rice, but I've done better than this before. That's okay, it was a tasty lunch made quickly from leftovers. I am not "proud" of the results, but satisfied. Check the BBQ thread for what I was actually putting effort into today.

More sour dough! 2 day ferment in the fridge, very nice even dough. Stretches exceptionally well. Nice chew and flavour

Had some leftover sushi rice sitting in the fridge, decided to make some sort of hybrid sticky fried rice.

Pork sausage, peanuts, cilantro, white pepper/5-spice mix, and typical base fried rice ingredients (eggs, scallions, etc.).

I have the Thermapen. It's great but I am not sure if it's worth that much over the more basic ones that i have for half the price.

I did not want to be rude. You can tell when someone is rich when their fried rice has no rice.

I may be rich in friendship and reputation, but there's a lot of rice in there.

Even tho sushi rice was used, this is what fried rice looks like. Probably Asian. Looks delicious though. How was the texture with the fried rice?
