Looking to refinish/reglaze the cast iron clawfoot tub in our house as it is starting to have issues on the inside. The outside of the tub is in good shape and doesn't need any work but the inside has some old chips that were poorly repaired and some newer chips starting, some having uncomfortable edges. Was going to have someone come and refinish it but the best price we have been quoted so far is $900 and we are locked inside the house all day which has us wanting to give it a shot ourselves. Pretty comfortable with the prep side of the work but having trouble tracking down the proper paint or epoxy to refinish the tub with. HAve not heard positive things about the rustoleum kit that is readily available so looking for other alternatives.

Has anyone refinished a cast iron tub before and if so are there any tips you can share? Any recommendations on paint or epoxy coatings that will hold up over time?

If all else fails, recommendations on someone to come in and do the work would be great!
