Juts buy a prebuilt like a dell, PC tech is going so damn slow, you could buy the lowest spec new pc and it'll still last you 5+years with what you're doing..., cheaper than your cellphone.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

ah yes, good point. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but it's nice to have the option to occasionally. Overwatch, GTA, that new Microsoft Flight sim looks cool.
Speaking of Flight sim, Microsoft released computer specs.

    https://www.pcgamer.com/amp/microsof...-requirements/

    CPU: Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X / Intel i7-9800X
GPU: Radeon VII / Nvidia RTX 2080
    VRAM: 8GB
    RAM: 32GB
    HDD: 150GB (SSD recommended)
    Bandwidth: 50 Mbps

Is this doable for around $1k?

Thats going to be what, $4K by the time you add the main board, 1-2TB SSD and 1000watt PSU?

I think you could do it for just over 2k and 1tb ssd is kinda silly. 500 is lots or get a media drive. And 1k PSU is definitely not needed for a single 2080, a good 6-700W PSU is plenty

    1k 2080 GPU, 420 for 3700x CPU, 250 for 32gb ram, 200 MOBO, 80 case, 150 psu, 100 for 500gb ssd.

2200$ plus tax, OS, and peripherals

Edit: I guess probably a cpu cooler, I think the 3700x doesn't come with one.

All of the Ryzens should come with a decent cooler.

Ahh. I think I was thinking of the thread rippers that don't ship with a cooler because your are expected to use your own
