Default In the 2008 recession, is there any Honda dealership went belly up in Calgary?

I don't drive Honda back then, is there anyone remember back 12 yr. ago, any HOnda dealership who didn't make it during that 2008 recession?

I'm trying to gauge if there is any that will go belly up this current recession, see if there is a fire sale

Very unlikely for one to close in Calgary imo. A smaller town yes, iirc one in Salmon Arm may have closed down a few years ago?

Would a dealer going belly up even result in a fire sale? I just assume there would be some corporate buy backs and shuffling inventory to other dealers (or something to that effect). I doubt they'd just sell off all their cars at a loss

Even if someone goes under, in most cases new cars are owned by the manufacturer. Dealers just pay interest on them until they sell. Used cars would end up getting auctioned off in a bankruptcy. A fire sale would land you in a lot of hot water prior to a bankruptcy.

I get that people do think this way, but fuck me if it doesn’t feel predatory in the same way as people who hoard stuff in an emergency to take advantage of peoples fear and need to resell for a gross profit off the backs of those in need. I dunno... Maybe I am jaded but I am walking in to places right now and am happy to pay fair deal plus kick them a bit more out of kindness in the hopes it helps them through a tough time.

Maybe Happy can go bankrupt so we can buy his junk for cheap at an auction.

it like anything else, I didn't need any upgrade. But if there is a sale, I'll buy.

It like anything else - Everything is for sale. You just can’t afford it.

And that's another Hurppy Herpping thread in the books (pandemic edition).
    As has been said before:

No. Only brand left after 2008 was Suzuki. I think Mitsubishi may not be long for this world this time around.

Everybody else is quite healthy. If any dealer can't make it, they will do a midnight move and you won't know about it.

Mitsubishi had the best selling electric vehicle in Canada. Not sure if that's still true.
