I dislike people at the best of times.

I'll miss the restrictions, and not looking forward to the dirty "normal".

Sorry to hear. My condolences. Glad to read that you prepared yourself well.

    Dementia sucks.

    Bump.

    How is everyone doing?

I was doing ok. Then last week my anxiety went off the charts.
I was getting low level anxiety attacks. Chest pain came back (acid reflux). The last couple of days I had a anxiety attack during the day. My god that was not good.
Ive cut the caffien out now. That is something not good to take while this is going on.
I went to see the doc too. My blood presure was defo elevated. Doc is reluctant to put me on meds, as they can be addictive. She said said I am stuck in fight and flight again. She was right. I can't go to the gym to work on fight response(health issue). So the other option was to relax. Im trying. But my god it can be hard when doing this alone.

It's been a tough couple of months here. First my mother-in-law went back into the hospital with heart issues just before Christmas. So that put a huge damper on Christmas. My FIL had something show up on his pancreas during an exam as well. He's lost a lot of weight, and has many other health/mental issues as well. My parents were supposed to come over the holidays, but bad weather stopped them from coming. Sitting alone in a house while WFH has gotten really monotonous. Now we have to sell our house so that we can get a place with a basement apartment for the in-laws as their health declines. Wrong time to sell and buy again.

But today has been good and that's what matters right now.

    Therapy?
    Journal?
As long as you find a way to express things that’s important. Glad you made this post.

I did cut caffeine but I’m back on cuz I love it way too much. I thought coffee prevented me from sleeping but as long as I don’t drink it past 4pm I’m good. Exercise helps. Meeting ma current gf has been a game changer. It helped immensely with the feelings of loneliness. For me being single I questioned my self worth and it spirals into other areas. She’s been so good for me. I know it sounds codependency but we are all looking for connection. She’s brought much joy and confidence back into my life.

I can’t comment on meds but I also watched what I was consuming, podcasts have also helped immensely as you realize you’re not alone, so many of us are struggling with something. All part of the journey.
    Stay strong bro.

January was pretty rough for me, I’ve never really struggled but for one week last month it felt like I was basically never going yo have fun with my friends again. Growing up sucks.

So when I met my girfriend last year. I was getting better. Things improved a lot. Unfortuanlty she did something that triggered my trauma really bad the other week. Im not sure if things are going to work out now. But anyway, the earliest I could see my therapist(s) was begining and late March.
Journaling is a good idea. Im not into writing.

I was off meds, but started taking them when things get too much.
One thing that did work was I made a list of things I need to do. I have that on my whiteboard. Setting goals and dividing it up. That helps to keep focus.

I never went on any antidepressants but I definitely abused the shit out of weed for a good 4 years. Going home and getting high was a thing as being high helps you bypass the time but then it also would trigger psychosis so I’m glad I had it in me to get off of it. I still get high here and there but it’s like having a drink socially vs a 2-6 every night. No more fkn around hooking up with randoms and just building better relationships all around. I definitely fked up a few friendships but ahhh well it is what it is. Much compassion and empathy to you man. Just gotta believe the future will be better than today, 1 day at a time and just keep going my brother tiger.

Pretty solitary/anti social person outside from work so not really. Although , I've noticed a palatable change the past year or so post C19 hysteria with how aggressive people are becoming in general with regards to road rage and over email/in person. CBD is great in moderation after a long day. As well as reconnecting with old friends, watching dumb funny movies like Bad Santa and playing guitar. Too much screen time will def not help your mental health especially these days

I am far too behind on far too many things at work and yesterday was an apex of unpleasantness with shit being due and an ill-timed appointment in the middle of the day. I assume I was getting close to what people call a "panic attack".

Gave myself a recommendation and got through it.

This may sound weird, and may be harder for you to do since I'm guessing you don't have kids. But I just enjoy spending time with my daughter. After a rough day, I come home and I'll chase her around the house, go for a walk to the neighborhood playground quickly if there is still daylight. She also likes playing with these magnetic tile things and building things. The whole time she is visibly fighting the urge to smash it, and she always smashes it.

Point is, for that 1 hour or so, I have no other troubles and nothing else on my mind. This little relaxing time I think is the key for me.

    She's 2 yo BTW.

There is nothing better than small kids to help get your mind off work. Mine are 2.5, 5yo and when I stop working for a couple hours for dinner and bedtime, it works wonders on stress.

I hear that. I took a hard fall on my shoulder at Fernie last March and I swear it took until mid summer before it started feeling normal again.
