My buddy is considering a "Learn to Hockey" thing and I'm wondering if any of y'all have tried something like this. It sounds pretty close to ideal, but he lives mega south and the program seems to be more north. I think it's in those weird "Flames Rinks" near what looks like that old military barracks.
It feels like he would drive by 12 rinks to get there, so in such a large city, might there be a southern option?
Here's his skill level. He thoroughly understands all the hockey rules, many strategies and is a big fan. He can already skate without falling, but he can't stop properly or do cross overs or any tight turns, etc. and I doubt he can skate backwards. He's only ever played road hockey, so he hasn't figured out how to shoot a puck, but that should come quickly. He has never put actual hockey gear on.

Do you think this^ would be a good fit for him? It's called Discover Hockey.
