Very interesting, anyone uses nostalgia to cope?

I found myself binging on older shows and music this year.

Yeah, youtube has been quite an enabler on this front.

This song is so f'ing relevant in 2020.

Yes, @rage2 named this site after this band.

Wow...really pandering to the boss. You ain't getting the #1 keychain.

Also. Why do they have Chinese subtitles to a Chinese song? It's not like the guy's crazy rapping.

We may not have rhythm to our dancing, but we sure the fuck have rhythm to our singing.

You know I'm not really one to really say much about this but I came to a realization today and I'm not sure how many might be in the same boat.

As I am not normally a social person and spend a lot of time at home and such what I've found is that I don't want to be going out now even more than I did before and this simply revolves around the mask initiate. Now its not that I have a problem with them or even wearing them but to me its just another of those nuisances of having to deal with when going out and doing stuff.

As I have worked from home since March of last year and still continuing to do so my actual time outside the house during the summer was ok because it was warm, but now that the cold months have settled in getting out.. has become quite the feat and challenge for me.

This has created almost an entire battle with myself to keep myself going and needing to push myself to go out and keep myself sane.

Definitely feeling ‘tired’ lately, hard to pin point what it is or really means. But a lot of others are feeling this too that I speak with

I dunno, but, I think I am in the minority here. 2020, while it has been a shitty year for sure, hasn't seemed that bad overall to me. Covid, the lockdown, etc, hasn't been much of an inconvenience for me. We are all pretty much hermits in my household with a very small and limited social circle. In the grand scheme of things, not a whole lot has changed for us. I mean, I don't go out anymore to play magic, and we aren't doing road trips, and we are shopping online more. That's about the impact to us. Mentally, we are all doing just fine.

For the rest of you, I can sympathize though. I am by default a very social person, and I thrive in groups of people. But one of my strengths is my mental and will powers. I can adapt to most any situation pretty easily and still thrive. Not seeing friends has been hard, but, like most things I do, I put my head down and push through it and remember that better days are ahead once I climb this mountain.

After being in warmth of personal car since uni days, I found myself bundled up and taking my hr long walks and was able to tough it out down to -20c windchill, regardless of the sun is out. So far, bad weather only deterred me twice in my twice daily hr walks since WFH.

I also go for drives when possible and hit random drive thru for snacks.

Music is key and my trusty 1000XM2 double as ear muffs helps in the cold.

Even I consider myself borderline hermit.... the toughest thing to get over was the lack of human contact beyond cohort. I missed banters shooting over the wall at work and odd poker games and BBQ cookout with friend on weekends. Zoom/Whatsapp are bandaid and doesn't address that need.

You have such an adorable doggo!!

The alternative is single like me, working 12 hours a day, going from home to work and work to home, no sports, no social, nothing. FML Definitely would have gone crazy if it weren't for sitcoms, music and podcasts lol

I was using up to 100mg of thc nightly to help me cope and then I hit rock bottom, said fk it, went cold turkey, didn't sleep for over a week .... I think I have turned the corner

Yea at least the puppers is a total time and energy suck and keeping us busy haha. And gets me out of the house walking the community once a day.

I'm also still going into the office (which isn't ideal IMO) and either dealing with crazy/busy/overworked or OMGWTF are we going to do the economy is fucked and nothing will ever get built again. Seems to only be one extreme or the other, its exhausting.

    Fucked up times for sure!
