There is a strange amount of knowledge present in this post.

many years ago, I ended up with about 85 cases of the girl guide mint cookies. that's 1020 boxes. The vast majority did get sol eventually, but at some point they were too old, and my family just ate or gave away the last 6 or 8 cases. Since then, I haven't liked the mint cookies nearly as much.

I might get some flack for this, but does anyone agree that these guide cookies all taste terrible? I mean, if they teamed up with a proper manufacturer to make better tasting treats, I would be more willing to eat them. I always support girl guides in our community and buy boxes but I always just give them away to someone who enjoys them in the office or something.

They taste terrible. I rather eat PC chocolate chip cookies, or Oreos.

The vanilla sandwich cookie tastes very close to Vanilla oreos to me. They are made by Dare, so it's a "proper" company, but yeah, there's better options out there.

I wouldn't say they're terrible but if I'm buying cookies I'd rather have fudgeo/oreo/chunks ahoy.

I think the mint chocolate ones are pretty fucking gross and I don't get the hype. I like the vanilla ones the best, but even then they're pretty meh to me and I would never buy them myself.

I just went to the pantry as I had one box of vanilla/chocolate and I agree, the vanilla would be the best of them but they are still bad.

Get Loblaws to take over and make mini oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, etc. and I'll buy them by the boatload. If they are selling a big box of $2.50, girl guides will make a killing selling a miniaturized box for $5.

As pointed out too many of the mint ones being sold are old stock so they are always stale or weird tasting. If you can get a fresh lot they are pretty good.

Best thing to do with the mint ones are throw em in the freezer.

The company that MAKES the cookies is the one that makes out like a bandit in this situation.

The GG themselves are just a cheap distribution/retail/sales channel for them.

    It's a pretty absurd situation.
