Default Canadian Tire online orders taking days to be prepared?

Anyone have any experience with expected times between submitting a Canadian Tire online order and it being ready to pick up?
I've been waiting 2 days, and it's still not ready to pick up. I'm thinking of just going there with my print out, putting all my stuff in a cart from the shelves, and showing them my paid online order at check out.

Yeah they're struggling, My kid works there, on Tuesday he worked an 8 hour shift and then was asked to stay for OT after the store closed, spent another 4 hours picking online orders.

We've been trying to find the best click and collect through trial and error, and the conclusion is, there are issues will all of them... Delays & missing items are just the name of the game now and there is no single silver bullet solution.

Took 2 days for my in store pickup orders to be processed back in December. Can't imagine how long the wait is now. Even back then I just went to the store to avoid the wait. PITA to get the order cancelled and refunded too, had to call their main # because the store couldn't do it.

I did a Home Depot order, and it was ready in ~12 hours. I'm going to try just showing up with my order print out and see if they'll let me take my stuff.
Edit: Are they not letting people in the store at all now?

Superstore is 2-3 weeks out on pickup windows and when you arrive consider yourself lucky if you get 50% or more of your order.

They are doing this to account for delays but I've been getting stuff in 1-2 weeks when it displayed a month out. Just order and cross your fingers that it won't take a month to get to you.

I went to Canadian Tire and they were letting people in but you stood in line and they said "xx of people can come in" .. Home Depot doing the same.

If you call, they will fulfill your order almost immediately. Just did this for a coffee maker on Monday at the 130th ave location. They'll cancel your online order and take a new order over the phone and you go and pick up.

Ordered something from Rona pickup last Friday afternoon. Said it was supposed to be ready in 2 hours but even by Saturday morning it was not done. Ended up canceling it and just went in and got it off the shelf myself.

Huh, we did the Superstore pickup last weekend. It was a one-week lead time and we got 90% of our order just fine, 5% was substituted reasonably (although they gave me a really shitty bag of russet potatoes instead of the yellows I ordered) and the other 5% we didn't get as we hadn't allowed substitution for those items. Not a terrible ratio all things considered.

I switched to the far NE Westwinds location for my superstore orders, and they've been 100% for my last two orders. WAAAAY better than Huntington.

For my Canadian tire order, I went to the store, got in a short line, was let in the store, grabbed my stuff off the shelves and checked out. Done.
To cancel my online order, you have to call in. I did, and got an auto message they were too busy to answer the phone for online orders. I tried back and just hit 0. I waited on hold for 10 min, got someone, and gave em my order number. Cancelled.

I did that once with a Home Hardware order. It was a mess. Apparently even though the site showed they had in store inventory, the online orders are separately shipped to the store. There's nothing in their system that allows them to transpose between the two quantities. Anyways it took them 30min to figure out how to refund an online order that hadn't arrived yet, and we had to separately purchase the one that was in store. Then a week later we got an email saying our order arrived at the store ready for pickup.

yeah most stores now use in store inventory, unless its a special order or something the store doesn't carry. I dont have any experience with Home Hardware or Lowes, but i have done plenty of ISPU in home depot and its worked fairly well... but if you need to do returns or anything its a bit of a headache, the one manager gave me shit one time and asked why i didn't just come buy it in store in the first place?... it was because online had a sale that the store didn't have.

Bought a shop vac this week from Lowes. $10 cheaper online, and didn't have to get out of my truck. I'll wait an extra day for that.

I'm also developing a worse phobia of crowds. So bought my daughter a new bike from Canadian Tire this week, took 3 days to be ready.
