Personally I find this weird; though never tried it myself. I can't see why you would want to, but to each their own. Additionally, I was of the understanding that it was illegal to drive with earphones

It isn't illegal in Alberta (not distracted driving) and I seen a ton do it. Usually people with crappier cars with poor or no audio I assume.
Dumb yes, illegal no.
Other provinces may be different, such as BC (one ear only).

The Bluetooth in my nicest vehicle is shait, so I sometimes do this to make my work phone calls.

See even when driving my girlfriends shit back to Alberta from Saskatoon, I used my Bluetooth speaker instead of earbuds, I would felt too disconnected from the vehicle with headphones.

i could never, i rely too much on sound around me for safe driving, often you hear someone without seeing them.... i always thought it was illegal long before distracted driving was a thing..
looks like it is illegal canada wide according to BC rcmp. chick was charged even though her phone was dead

I drive a minivan, usually with kids in it. How much more disconnected and distracted could I get?

the difference is you can still hear outside sounds, even if only occasionally, its enough to hear sirens or whatever, noise cancelling headphones wouldn't allow this. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I have driven a vehicle exactly once while wearing ear buds because I was having technical problems with the stereo.
Man was it fucked up! Haha.
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
Are deaf people allowed to drive?
I drove my RC-F In sport mode with noise cancelling beats studios, without engine noise it feels like driving an EV. Pretty bizarre how much sound plays in your brain interpreting driving experience.

My cousin is completely deaf she hears zero sound. She can feel vibrations but it doesn't translate to sound.

Yeah I tried driving my s2k with airpods pro the other day to see what it was like. Took less than 30s before I took them out haha. It was peaceful and quiet, but I found it disconcerting due to not hearing what the car was doing, and also not hearing anything from around me.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
