Default cost for Ontario/Alberta car transport

What does it generally cost with the various options (covered, not, etc)?

Similar. Railyard to Railyard for that price. Also, have to leave a bit of a window of time for that.

Had a car sent from NB to AB a few years ago. It was open carry and they were able to meet my timeline best out of all I was in contact with, cost me $2k at the time. I did reach out to them last year about a car in the Toronto area and they quoted $1300 for enclosed at the time.

Depends on the car, I'd go with EVT (enclosed vehicle transport). Thorsons EVT is great. I've used them a few times for more expensive cars. Of course, it's a little more pricey, around 1800?!

If you're okay with open, Transport Car Fre is also great. cost is probably around 1200 to ON

I've used Thorsons, TFX and Blueline in the past.

The first two are typical EVTs. Scheduling can be sporadic and service slow, as there are only so many cars to fill the loads and they typically don't move half full trucks around.

Blueline will use excess LTL capacity and if there's room for a car, they'll load 'er up. Because they're utilizing spots on traditional LTL transport, the availability is high frequency and the cost is more reasonable than the specialized carriers. The only hitch is you need a flat deck truck at each end to load & offload the vehicle. I've got cars from Mtl to Calgary in 3 days with Blueline, when the other two were booking for 3 weeks out... On top of that, IIRC, it cost about 20% less as well (not sure what current rates are).

Unless it was a hyper-specialized car, I wouldn't hesitate to use Blueline...

See my above post. Car was picked up about 30 minutes from Moncton, I was living in Red Deer at the time.

When I almost bought that matte grey AMG GTS last year that I told you about, the dealer from Toronto quoted $1200 I believe. That was supposed to be in an enclosed truck, which I suggest if you're selling your AMG GTS out there. They didn't mention the company, we never got that far but I don't imagine it being too different sending from here to that side.
