Whats the maintenance like on the RX400? how is the hybrid system??

This is another car high on my list, but I know nothing about hybrid maintenance.
I have few hybrid, (Lexus and Acura) zero issue, my RX400 has over 300k km, the hybrid battery is still strong, if one day.. say another 5 or 10 year, the Hybrid battery need to replace, probably just dump the vehicle away … lol

Anyway, that is why I suggest RX330, for people who worry about the Hybrid system. Gas is cheap now!

I concern the timing belt more, timing belt for mine was replaced once, so probably in few year will need to replace again, but I have read many people drive their Lexus for over 200,000 mile, still on first timing belt ..

I've got a line on a Chrysler 300 AWD that should fall below your 5k criteria, if that interests you.

Sounds interesting, but performance like a clapped out pickup truck with a big v8.

Yeah it sounds great but my god it crawls.

I think the answer here is obvious. You need a Lada Niva.

That thing sounds good, but ya, it does seem to be a slow finisher. I don't think I want another v8 though, especially a VW lol

I think the subarus are really catching my eye, the jdm foresters and impreza wagons, but I have no idea what to look for when searching these cars out, I've never owned one.

Oh god... I’d take the turbo RB in the Nissan over a turbo boxer

Omg... just no. Here, you’re an adult. Leave the RHD to the high school kids. These are fucking bullet proof and drive through 3ft of snow no problem. Pretty quick and bomb down the hwy as comfortably at high speed as the LS. They also sip fuel is driven by normal people (ex-gf use to manage 6L/100kms in stop and go city traffic with her’s)

My lesbaru was pretty damn fun in winter even without the turbo. Bit boring on dry pavement though.

Lol I'm not exactly looking at JDMs but if the price is right and the car is right, its a winter car overall so I'm not too picky if its jdm or not.

As far as the 330xi that's my number one choice if I can find a good one. I'd really like a wagon though. I missed a really good one and I should have bought it even though I didn't need it lol

You know what would get old real quick commuting into the city in a RHD? Passing on the hwy

Lol I know I know. RHD isn't my first choice, but it opens up options.

Buying a W8 is like lighting a $20 bill and enjoying it while you get tweaked in the nipples.

Alright we're back to it lol what say you sayers about stuff. Looking at 5k-ish. I kinda want a wagon, but unsure of reliable audis(if those 2 go in a sentance together).

I would also go for a reliable awd SUV, but man, im going to want something reliable and fun. Fuck fast, I dont care.

Look at something like an CRV if you want awd and reliable. Things are lego and bulletproof and if you get one with the K series so many options.

Crv, Rav4, highlander all okay. Dark horse pick is an older escape or tribute, which are pretty simple and halfway reliable. Not great vehicles, but usually cheap. Just make sure you don't get an FWD one.
