Default Can I drive to Van?

Father in law is picking up a car from vancouver and the plan was for me and him to drive down this saturday to get it. I tried to see if there was any type of travel ban for Albertans but i couldnt find anything clear. Im also wondering if anyone knows if were even allowed to be in the same car even though we live at different places? Thanks in advance

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

There was never any kind of law preventing carpooling or interprovicial travel, afaik. Just suggestions to "avoid" it.

Son did it on May 1, no probs at all. Didn't mention any border stops either, so should be fine.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Some provinces require you to do 14-day quarantine after entering from a different province, but Alberta and BC aren't one of them. You should be fine.

Dont be surprised if you get the odd middle finger or flat tire with Alberta plates. I have been to Invermere a couple weeks ago and got fingered 3 times.

Thinking of making a trip to the island in late June but stopping in Kelowna to swap for the BC registered vehicle first...

My family that has a place in invermere drives directly into thier garage and doesn't go into town. They act like thier lives are in danger. Probably over dramatic, but whatev.

Why do people think its illegal to go on trips or see friends? there was never anything saying it was forbidden...

While I lived in Fernie I had several friends and coworkers who only used a rear plate. So many Alberta plates in the area no one ever thought twice about (not) seeing a front plate.

    Love the plastidip idea lol

Heard from an acquaintance that his daughter's best friend from the University of Alberta who's originally from BC was visiting her family in BC a couple of weeks ago in her new Beetle with Alberta plates. She apparently parked at a grocery store and came back to the entire side keyed.

Yeah, but it's a new beetle, so everyone already assumes you are a douchebag.

I've been working in BC for the past year and a half now, with red plates. I have also heard stories about people getting fingered as well, but I've never experienced it in person.

It's kinda sad seeing people "from" a certain province have that kind of entitlement to another fellow Canadian.

In any event, can't we just have a hot Alberta cowgirl vs. Okanagan sweetheart wet t-shirt contest and be friends?
