Centennial Place food court had a Koryo, not sure if that one closed down as well tho
Yeah that one closed down in Jan or Feb.

Guess they're gone from downtown. That sucks.

5 & 5 food court the Koya, Jugo Juice and the Chinese place are all gone.

Teriyaki place in Intact is gone.

TH next to Spring Roll Chalet is gone. Not only is it gone, the building has been torn down. I think there was another TH I walked by yesterday that is gone.

CBC had a report earlier this week saying 50% of all Canadian restaurants could close in the next 2 months. I kind of think this is too short of a time frame although personally I haven’t been out to more than one restaurant since February this year.

I think I've been out 3 times since March for dine-in. Takeout/delivery a bunch of times though. I've kinda just lost the appeal, cooking at home or even delivery and having friends over is more appealing than paying for overpriced food and beer. Fill a couple growlers up and sample some pints with friends.

Hoping some logistics companies go under or maybe some local manufacturers. I wanna buy a Mercedes Sprinter van for cheap.
Then you can go broke fixing it.

ya I wouldn't be surprised. Restaurant friends are putting up a good fight but they are hurting. Everyone is hurting so can't feel sorry for any sector. It sucks. One chit chat with the suppliers and all is clear.

I saw another article claiming 60% would be gone for good due to this covid response. They either just can't make the revenues required to stay open when they can only seat 50% of the restaurant, or they can't meet the requirements to open at all.

They can blame the 50% capacity rule if it makes them feel better, but I have yet to be in a restaurant thats even 25% full. People just arent going out.

Good restaurants I’ve been to are definitely at capacity during peak times.

But mediocre places, yea they aren’t doing well.

Ive wondered for years how cineplex survives there.
    Corporate events.

My typical dine-in turned into take out.

My typical gathering turned into take out in the park.

I have dine-in once on a vendor lunch.

Yeah i think 50% is definitely on the low side as sad as it is. I have no idea how you can survive at 50% capacity

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

It was 60% as @Misterman said. Here is a different article about it.

Not bankruptcies but a couple interesting days plays this morning.

Whitecap and NAL merging, and Obsidian out there in the market with the start of a hostile for Bonterra after talks broke down.

    The great consolidation is beginning.

CNRL are only interested in certain assets.

But fuck they are efficient. They make people actually do their jobs.

    And ruthless.
