Is it across from the Western High previously a poke joint?
Yessir. That spot specifically has been a tricky one so hoping Edo finds success.

Remember seeing store front of the poke joint got broke into quite a few times. Not sure if its crack heads or owner forgot to pay protection money.

Not cheap glass/window to be replaced.

This was the thread I was looking for! Haha posted the Hifi thing in the actual Covid thread.

I’m pretty sad about it, I was there a lot over the years. Way too much probably. Chester was a usual suspect with me there too.
I think I may have met up with you there to buy a spare show ticket many years ago haha. Or maybe it was FC? Either way agreed, definitely a shame to lose Hifi. Their management always had a keen eye for up and coming talent... they booked all the big names before they got big

    Haha yah man 100%

Hopefully Hifi just comes back bigger and better. I have a kid now so it won’t be like it used to if it ever comes back but that’s ok.

Not as venerable, but the factory in the highlander hotel seems relevant.

This might be old news, but David's Tea is closing / has already closed most of their stores in Alberta.

The one on 17th Ave is gone.

I used to love that place - always such great service.

That is too bad. I can’t say I drank their tea often but it was always nice that it was available.

Technically not closing down completely, theyre closing down 166 stores in canada and all of US. They will be reopening 18 in Canada though. My daughters obsessed with this place so she asked them lol

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Isn't David's Tea mediocre grade tea with a bunch of artificial sweeteners in it? Service was always really good, which is impressive considering it was all high school girls running that place.

The Edo on 17th is about to open or is open(?)

Just saw the lights on and the tarp off as I passed by.

Anju is now Roy’s Korean Kitchen on Mission

Deville can now be the Higher Ground alternative

I don't think it had artifical sweetners, but possibily, it was expensive AF though..

I always got that, there was one with caffine as well that was good, but don't remember the name of it anymore.

Anyways got this one as presents for relatives in Europe though.

Should the gov't bail out AC in exchange for refunding customers?

I mean... they have ~$900 of my dollars in flight credit currently.

A bailout, depending on the size will likely be $10 from my pocket as a tax payer....

    $900 > $10

    Bail out those mother f*ckers!

You're doing it wrong. Herr Justin only does what the West doesn't want. You need to be making cardboard signs and throwing bricks while chanting "BAIL THEM OUT! BAIL THEM OUT!!"
