Except get gt sat in my garage for 4-5 months a year at the same depreciation rate. Calgary is a frustrating place to have a fun summer car... No good driving roads close... No track... Short season.

I drove the gt as much as possible and still only put on 12.5k in three years.

I might wait until I love somewhere warmer to bother with a summer car again.
It's true, when you put it like that it really does not make sense at all. That's why I try to maximize enjoyment by taking mine out in winter every now and then. I've put just over 5K km's since November and that too mostly cause of two trips between Calgary and Edmonton But then I see people like my parents' neighbour in Calgary with his yellow Aventador SV or SVJ (I forget which one he has).

Or I guess gotta be a true baller and have a nice holiday home for winter and have a nice car kept there. That's the plan for down the line and hopefully I can just take over my parents' Florida or LA home. lol #mooching

Fun photo I took last week when I drove my car down for service at Distinctive.

Client of mine just bought four Ferraris for his place in Arizona. So that a foursome could drive to the course and put their clubs in the passenger seat.

Shakalaka, what did you end up purchasing? I know you were looking at a McLaren but then lost track.

Calgary has shitty roads, weather sucks and shitty drivers. I have pondered the thought of owning a nice summer car but it would upset me just to have sit in the garage when it cannot be driven.

A few years ago I looked at the C7Z with the manual transmission, loved the fact it was $100k out the door and had lots of power. I am stilling looking for a 2017+ Audi R8 but they are still depreciating, and this economy needs to get better.

Same guy has two main houses in the US and one in Toronto. He owns/drives identical M5s in each house (wife drives identical X5Ms in each house). Every year or two his three BMW sales guys get on a conference call and simultaneously order the vehicles (all six) so that they are identical. So when his wife flies into Florida or Arizona, she is driving the same car wherever she is.

At some point the money is meaningless and it’s just about the lifestyle. Getting out of the rat race completely changes your mindset.
