I still think my previous comment on a win-win situation for beyonders or someone else is worth considering if someone wants to step up. Potentially 10% off or more from purchase price for an already decent deal on a unique sports car.

Too bad I am not worthy of that specimen but I'd gladly do 85-90k on something that like if I had the garage space. Oh and of course the money if not already meant for our dream house deposit.
So what you're saying is, you're going to waste it anyway. Might as well buy the car!

So agree, but % that high will just push the buyer to take the car. I'd love to buy this car for a steal, but I don't think it's in the cards.
The flakey buyer needs to feel a sting for walking away and he should understand that.
On the other other hand... So far, the car is depreciating over $20k/year and it's still on the tail of that exponential curve. It's already taken ~6 months to find a buyer and make a deal. Maybe 5% at roughly $5k is too low a penalty. Thankfully, we're now in the prime selling time of the year, so that should help.
Selling $100k cars is about as rewarding as selling cars less than $1k.

I’m not rocket surgeon, but I don’t think that’s how negotiation works.
Nah. He was just a kid who made a mistake. I wasn't gonna let him go scott-free but somehow a grand seemed like an overly high one-night rental.

    We both got a deal.

You can live in a car but you can't drive in a house. You can also roast a chicken in a car.

All done. The alternate offer completed the deal and took the car.

That's what I was thinking too.

You can't do that, you have got to at least tell us what it cost him for his error!
