Given that OP recently just posted in the Latest Purchase thread about his Kia Telluride...haha.

The 1 star Google reviews tell pretty much the same stories and it gets as bad as allegedly forging client signatures for packages they weren't aware of.

Best part is the dealership responses "we respectfully disagree with your statement"

Man. Kias are 50 grand these days?

I think that’s what I paid for my M235i lol

Hahaha the 4 square, I had a pretty much same experience at Capital Chev a few months ago.

Same thing, I asked for a breakdown, show me your computer screen where it's breaking down the purchase and the different payment amounts for financing. They refused to go through the numbers and only gave me what the payment would be, so I walked away.

Ended up going to another dealership and had a great experience, made a deal with them as they gave me what I wanted and the entire purchase was crystal clear.

Loaded C43 today is almost C63 money 10 years ago.

    Canadian peso sucks.

People still go into dealerships to buy cars? I haven't dont that in years.

Whole deal gets done over email or it doesn't get done at all. Only time I go to the dealership is to deliver the cheque for the agreed upon amount and get the car.

I really like the sound of that.

Even better if I never have to go to the dealer at all

Nothing to do with currency. It's the same thing in the US. That was the goal all along with the "fake" mid tier AMG and M's, they would slowly creep up in price which pushes the real ones up market even more.

    2009 C63 AMG MSRP - $55,975 USD
    2020 C43 AMG MSRP - $55,950 USD

    Ironically I have a c43 as well.

I wanted a C63 but AWD has been non-negotiable ever since I bought my first 135i and the E63 is more than I want to spend.

Ya the sleaze tactics and mandatory packages really make me wish they got rid of dealerships and went to the Tesla model. Click here to buy..

I did negotiate the second deal over email and only came in to sign the papers and pick up the car.

The problem was the wife wanted to test drive, so we went into Northland to see the car first.

IS this something that they teach the sales guys or something? Seems like a predatory tactic used for customers that lack financial literacy.

The entire car business relies on financial illiteracy.

South Pointe Toyota must have lent them a copy of that '4 Square' worksheet. LOL

The 4 square sheet has been taught in sleeazeball university for fifty years at least. Very common across brands and at independent dealerships too. It's designed from the ground up to hide fees and add-ons.

Yeah, see I could never do that. Something like a vehicle, I'd have to get the whole fit and feel experience. I find with any sort of reviews many people tend to overhype things I don't care about and/or put less emphasis on things I do.

Is the 4 square that common? This is actually the first time I have seen it and I have purchased 7 cars in the last 10 years. Although most of them were BMWs and Benz but this was the third Kia for my wife. She negotiated the first one and got screwed and the second one I did for here gave me a proper breakdown. I guess I have been lucky to avoid the 4 square as that instantly irritated me.

Thanks I appreciate that as I hadn't seen it previously. To me my initial reaction was what sort of person would use this as a deal sheet.

I never knew it was a thing until someone mentioned it in another post, then I read up on it. I guess it is a pretty common thing haha

I've bought most of my cars without test drives.

Having said that, I will test drive a car but never do the actual deal at the time of the test drive. Always over email, never in person.

I have changed my mind on a couple of cars after test drives, so I couldn't do that. Even things like the AMG sport seats I assumed would be uncomfy but after the test drive I was sold on them. You are brave doing that all sight unseen but I remember you tell me that back when you used to go to CFC.

Your experience is probably more the norm than unusual. The sales guy is the least of your worries when it comes to purchasing a vehicle

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.
