There is a reason I keep ending up with fords... service is also great... if you really want to have a painful experience, Jeep Cherokee... eastside dodge
Alright time to look at dodge next to see if I get 4 squared.

Beyond’s favourite finance manager could probably help arrange that you do (not at east side though)

So I’m out shopping for vehicles right now, seeing what’s out there that can tow a trailer. Figured for sure I would get the 4 square treatment at Ford. Nope, they told me the incentives out there, finance deals, I chose 2 and they printed it out with a 3rd option. Honestly if I was set on getting an Explorer, I would’ve been in and out, purchased and financed in an hour. Completely painless experience.

What’s a guy gotta do to get the 4 square pressure tactic? Haha

Oh and 0% financing at 72 months. Cash rebate was $4k. Ford must be hurting to move inventory.

Edit - I guess those numbers don’t really add up to 0% haha. Nor do they add up to GST. Must be a $1000 fee hiding in there. Lack of breakdown is a bit deceiving.
That’s a bougie ass loaded explorer there too!

The vehicle that burned so much gas even amg Benyl went double Tesla to save a few bucks?

I really like the current Explorer.
Highs: Longitudinal engine—just like a BMW!
Lows: Sparsely equipped and cheap inside—just like a last-generation Explorer.
Verdict: Ford lays the foundation for a brighter future but lets the Lincoln Aviator realize it.

I think I see a theme with Fords. Cheap interiors, excellent engines? Guess they need to have a reason for people to step up to Lincoln.

For $70k Platinum edition that interior was bland as hell. I guess it’s got a big screen up in the middle. So basically a Tesla interior.

$70K for an Explorer is hard to swallow with the rental car interior and build IMO. It used to be one of the highest margin vehicles available, not sure if that still holds true but I wouldn't be surprised. If you need a decent third row and good towing capability though there aren't a ton of options out there. What about an MDX? Too small/weak?

$70k for an Explorer is pretty crazy. $54k for the limited trim is much more reasonable, and you still get a lot of the things that I consider "luxury" touches. I wouldn't dare suggest that any beyond member could survive contact with the lowly $42k XLT trim level, even though it's the same vehicle underneath the bling.

The screen is the biggest difference between the XLT/Limited vs the ST/Platinum. It's prettier lipstick on a pig. Even the power difference between the 2.3 and 3.0 are negligible. I looked at the Hybrid as well but for some reason it's only available in Limited trim as a $5k option.

I also come at this from a pickup truck perspective, where the platinum trim is not something I think i could drive. Just feels unreasonable.

I got a four square sheet at both of the ford dealerships I went to two weeks ago... lol

None of the numbers added up.

this almost seems worse than a 4 square since nothing adds up lol. The trick must be that "plus taxes and fees" that make up the $4000 difference?
