Default Sealing aggregate driveway - product recommendations?

Had our broom finish driveway sand blasted last year due to some issues with it, so now we have a "half-ass" aggregate driveway I guess you could call it. Any recommendations for a sealant and other products I need to DIY it?

Is the typical procedure just, pressure wash it, dry, roll the sealer on with a paint roller?

How many coats should be put on? and can it be driven on after a few hours?

    Thanks

Acrow-Richmond high gloss acrylic sealer is what I used in my legit exposed agg.
I regret using a roller but maybe that's because I didn't use a long enough nap or whatever that term is. I'd buy a sprayer next time, I think.

Don't drive on it for >12 hours. A big tip is to do it when it's not sunny AT ALL. Outside temp of 16 leads to driveway temp that's well above the recommended limit.

    Sold at NCA in Calgary.

Bump...didnt end up doing it last year. Any recommendations for a company to come and do it? Looking to get some pricing for the job.

If I do end up DIY'ing it with a roller, do you need a specific type of roller? Or any paint roller would do?

^I would buy that. My only hesitation is how to clean them properly after use. Apparently, you're supposed to use xylene and I'm not exactly sure how to swish a few glug-glugs of that around in that sprayer and then dump it... like where?!

Yeah, I read you need to use xylene as well. I would guess after using it, toss it in a container and take it to a firehall/land fill for proper diposal.

Watched a few youtube videos, seems like even with a sprayer, you should take a roller and go over it as well. I guess the sprayer is just easier for applying it vs the painting method?

Fuck that. I would roll the perimeter to mitigate overspray and contamination of adjacent surfaces but there is zero chance I'd roll plus spray.
    Pro's spray only.

It would be attractive to rent it out to neighbours who want to spray their own to help offset your costs. Or, just start offering the service. I think my idiot neighbour just paid $700 to have it done and it looks about the same as when I rolled mine as a rookie.

I talked to a pro who was sealing a neighbors driveway and they recommend SureSeal HS340 with 30% solids. It's pricier at $300 for a 5G pail but supposed to last longer. Unisheen from Unicon only seems to last a couple years for me so far so may give this a try next time.

^I don't think you're going to need that grit. I high-gloss sealed my exposed agg last time and while it was noticeably more slippery, it wasn't ridiculous.

Any recommendations for hiring someone to clean and seal? I realize its super easy but I dont really have the time to get it done and I just keep putting it off.

I have not used them, but I've heard good things about Titan Coatings.

Did you end up hiring someone to seal your driveway?
