Is there any good utilities co. out there in Calgary for electric & natural gas?

what do you people use? as I have some current serious problem w/ enmax

just now, did an internet search, who are these people called energyforless.ca or peacepower or energyrates.ca etc.? has anyone use them?

Well some do believe they're helping the planet by buying from a green energy company but we all know that's a farce - electrons coming into your home can and do come from any energy source, green or not.

I agree. The pre-authorized payment forms are so confusing. I was concerned that the gas coming from Enmax/Atco is too stinky. I use my chilli farts as a gauge of acceptable levels.

wrote them a cheque, they cash it. Didn't cr. my acct., and now said they never receive the $. I'm thinking I should call the police or file an online report.

You can prove to them they cashed the cheque . Call your bank and they should be able send you the proof.

As funny as this thread is, this happened to me. I paid someone’s bills for months, and my power got shut off. I never got that money back. I used to go to city hall every month to pay my bills in cash because they were so incompetent lol. Funny that it’s still happening today.

Years ago when we lived in Ranchlands in a rental house we were getting two bills every month and one of them was always some small amount like $40/month. We called Enmax a couple months after moving in to ask why we were getting two separate bills instead of one and they said it was because there were two meters attached to the property. The house did have a legal basement suite in it even though we had the entire house so we just sort of accepted it without looking into it further and just paid every month. Didn't think about it again until about 3 years later when my wife was yanking weeds beside the house and she clued into the fact there was only one meter actually on the house, but the park right next to us had a power meter of it's own (I guess for small events or some shit). She got the number off of it and compared it to the bill and sure enough we were paying for the city parks juice!

It took a bunch of phone calls and yelling at idiots but they finally sent someone out to confirm, and indeed that is exactly what was happening. They did give us a credit on account for all the extra money we were paying over the years but I still have to wonder how long that was happening and how much money the previous people would have paid for the city park power.

anyhoo, does anyone has a sample of acto gas /electric bill? w/ enmax, I have 4 different fee, I want to see if acto has the same kind of fees and how much is the amt.?

They've all got fees/riders - it's really just a case of tossing a coin with respect to selecting a service provider.

What I'm trying to figure out is how you manage to make simple things difficult?
