It’s not enormous but should suit my needs fine. Again I like that it’s on castors so I can pull it out of the closet to work on it.

Took me an embarrassingly long time to assemble while gimped.

    Yeah, that's enormous.

Hilariously, nothing I want to put into a rack, is rack mountable.
NAS, UPS, USG, Raspberry Pi, some 5 and 8 port desktop switches, and a shaw modem.

I’m looking to directly rack mount my patch panel, UDM Pro, POE switch, and Amp ( if I can find someone who stocks the rack mount kit for it), with a bunch more stuff on shelves too. Would like a rack mount UPS, some additional cooling systems to move air around, a NAS for my home media collection (DVD rips, file server etc), would like a couple more Sonos amps to rack mount eventually ( will use my old connect amps on shelves for now).

I think I’ll burn through 25 units quicker than I expect.

That's a little tall for my space, and has no casters. I currently have it all sitting on top of an old glass ikea desk, but I want to tidy it all up.

Any of you happen to have any of the star tech shelves in their racks?

Any chance you could help a brother out and check the usable internal width of the shelf? (mm)

I was going to pickup a shelf from AC Infinity but looks like the shelf is going to be 2mm too small width wise to shoehorn the massive facade of my receiver in. The Startech looks a hair bigger in pictures so I am hopeful.

Can’t find this dimension anywhere for the star tech shelves

    that's a 45u rack, and I've got 7 blanks in there. So I guess I'd fill a 38u rack.

    Screen doesn’t help haha.

I think I’ll have my 25U pretty full by the time I’m done but I am not nearly as ambitious as you for what I want in there.

I've seen a few people put receivers in their rack, but that's the first I've seen someone put their xbox. Are you not concerned about not seeing either of those? I use my receiver to change inputs, and I still have some disks for the Xbox, but I want my rack on the other side of the wall from my home theatre, so I'd be able to do this.

No, no need to have your processor and sources on the same side of the wall as your home theater. Kids are all digital on the xbox, so its on that front.

I’m planning on doing the same as buster, pretty rare to have to go put a disk in these days but when I do I’ll just get up and walk across the room to my rack closet. It’s really no more effort than walking over to out the disk in where my Xbox currently is.

Im also curious on the xbox, are you just using a long ass HDMI cable from your various TVs in the house to the receiver in the rack to play the xbox, or what black magic is used here?

Depsite being in the tech field, I'm pretty low knowledge on home theatres and consoles besides plug it in direct and play it.
