AN Hose+Fittings

I’m remounting the oil cooler on my car with a bigger core in a different location and I need to either create a small second AN line to extend my short line, or have a whole new AN line that’s slightly longer created. Anywhere in Calgary that does this?

Mopac / JBs both have stock and several styles of hose. What size are you doing? I’ve got a bunch of dash 10 fittings laying around.

I thought it was a bit of a pain to crimp AN stuff? I could just reuse the fittings on the current short line and buy a longer hose?

It is, I was trying to do it the other day and got pretty frustrated haha.. you just really need to make a clean cut so nothing gets caught up when you’re putting threading the fitting on...

There isn’t any crimping involved. And yes, you can just disassemble your current hoses, buy new hose and reassemble with your existing fittings.

If it’s getting caught because the cut isn’t clean, wrap electrical tape around the outside of the end really tightly, but with the sticky side out. That’ll compress it to allow you to get the fitting on but will also allow you to pull the tape out once you have the fitting on the line.

There's also another option that's a little easier IMO. You can get a more economical (but still very robust) rubber hose and use push-connect ends like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fra-209006-bl

On my Locost build I used nylon braided fuel line with the usual threaded fittings, and rubber oil cooler lines with the press in fittings. Once I got the hang of heating the hose end slightly before pressing in the fitting, I thought it was a pretty slick option for non-fuel lines.

The Push types are a lifesaver when I routed my oil and water lines to the turbo.

Braided is unnecessary unless you want headaches.

Gonna pick up some hose and reuse my existing two 90° fittings since they are the right size and angle for my new core location.
