Wait, didn't you buy shitty SportCheck bikes? Upgraded already?
Funny story. Bought two 'shitty' Sportchek bikes. Both Nakamura's - his and her version of the same type. Both were significantly marked down from $600 something to under $300. I couldn't be happier. I placed an order and waited 7-10 days and nothing. Contacted them and I was told, we thought this order was fraudulent so it was canceled. And no we can't extend the same discount on those bikes as the offer is no longer valid and we currently don't have any in stock. Since they were double the price, I said fuck that. I placed another order for his and hers that were on sale, although slightly more than the first set. Waited a couple of days and heard nothing and I called them and got the same, 'the systems marked this as a fraudulent order, so it won't go through.' At this point, I am annoyed at the, 'we suggest you wait for the physical stores to open to attend in person to purchase your bike.' Told him that was ridiculous considering everything is shut and that we aren't supposed to be going out (during lockdown) and cut short the conversation.

I went online browsing and ended up ordering myself a Trek bike that cost more than both of the first two I had ordered. And it was one of the cheapest Trek options as well. Then for the wife, I kept looking at Canadian Tire and got her a dual-suspension CCM bike, which was still more than what I wanted to spend but due to lack of choice went with it. I did not want to purchase used at all for some reason.

Awesome news. I will be posting my carbon road bike that hasn't left the garage in a year.
Update. Sold my bike 30 mins after posting last night for $100 more than I paid @blitz for it in 2018. Granted I think he gave me a pretty good deal, this is still nuts.

I listed a bike for $500 on Friday and had a bunch of offers for $400, re listed today for $550 and got an offer for full ask immediately. Now i wait and see if the buyer actually comes with the cash.

Ridley Fenix C40. First guy to message me bought it; flawless process, except where I had to make awkward convo with him for 40 mins while his etransfer was going through the pipes (note: if someone ever wants to etransfer and they are with CIBC, just send them to a bank to get the cash - it will be faster).

Did I say $100? Typo, I meant $10. Who should I make the cheque out to?

Just be cautious when buying a bike... I got screwed my first time around and bought a stolen bike. There is a government stolen bike registry and the Bike index to which you can check. Cops helped me and I got $300 of $500 I spent back, but got lucky. Bought a second bike and everything checked out, but still left a bad taste in my mouth and cautious..

It's like selling/buying a house when the market is hot. Always a good time to buy, bikes never lose their value!

Cop actually helped facilitate. The guy I bought it from was laid off, living with his parents and spent some of the money already so I settled for what he had readily accessible. He didnt have any previous records and provided proof that he bought it the day prior to flip and make money so Cops wanted us to settle before going to small claims.. Court could very well be a waste of both of our time, so 300 of 500 was fine by me.

My son sold his old nakamura bike tonight with worn tires and busted brakes for $40 and it took 11 minutes and multiple replies on FB marketplace. The buyer saw mine and my son’s current bikes and asked if we wanted to get rid of those, crazy.

I think I was a bit of a dummy not marking up the value of my bikes.
Sold 5 of my bikes in the last 2 weeks. 2 of them ended up with beyonders. Sold my old giant MTB for way more than I was expecting. Everything else I think I sold at very fair / below market price
