I read this thread and decided to sell my 2 mtn bikes that have been sitting around. 24 hour later, I have $2k!

I'm torn about selling my mtn bike that doubles as my winter commuter. Got it for really cheap and could probably double my money selling it, but then come winter time I still gotta buy another bike again. I wonder how many people will be dumping bikes come fall time... but I also imagine they'll be asking stupid amounts for their bikes because 'oh but I bought it for a grand in the spring'

Thats why i havent sold my Rove yet.. havent ridden it all spring cause of WFH, but once we're back i'll just have to get a different commuter.. so am i just putting myself into a hole down the road?

listed my wifes jake the snake CX bike late last night and someone came and picked it up for listed price this morning for his daughter.

good inexpensive bikes for women are hard to come by so I was not surprised to sell it so quickly (she bought a new one from the bike shop for this reason)

tempted to sell my road bike now too and upgrade haha. i think i can sell it for how much it cost me for the parts.

I sold my mountain bike because of this thread. Ghost 29" Carbon hardtail. Paid $1300 in 2015, got $1000 for it last night.

we sold my wifes cx bike as she wasnt comfortable riding and braking with dropbars and picked up a Sirrus 2.0, they are nice bikes

Hey guys,

Was wondering if some of you could help me out in regards to deciding if I should sell or keep this bike.

I was considering selling it and picking up a new one (i figure i can sell for 2-300 and would spend 7-800 on a new bike). I took it for a ride last night and noticed that the front shocks no longer rebound (super tight). I use to be able to lock them or release them with a flick of a lever on the top of the fork, but that no longer does anything. Can I service this fork, or would I need a new one? Is it worth it to spend any money on this bike?

see pics of the bike below, I bought it used a few years and the guy had mentioned he had swapped out some of the components.
