From my interactions i would totally agree. The Can tire in Beacon was well over 50% Philipino a couple years ago and the service was amazing. We've been using a Philipino owned/operated cleaning company for at least 4 years now and they've always been good.
Really? I've had the complete opposite experience throughout my life. Every one that I ever worked with was unconscionably lazy, and would do everything in their power to get out of actually doing work. Extremely devious too, would tell you one thing to your face and then sneak around behind your back to try and sewer you. Several different Pinoy's in several different roles, mind you your mileage may vary. Very "nice" and polite to your face though, I'll give them that.

So the moral of the story is that Filipinos are sometimes great and sometimes pieces of shit.... just like people of every other race.

    A+ thread.

This is exactly the outcome people should have from this. That importing a nanny from a certain country is no silver bullet for success.

The importing program is shitty and it's fucking close to slavery. We hired a girl who was shackled to this shit family who made her do everything, all hours of the day and one of the fucking parents didn't even have a job. Then we found out 40% of the nannies in our neighbourhood were also in that boat. It's horrible.
They are indentured servants until they earn a PR card. Ours was just finishing her qualifications so she could flee her Masters and was super grateful for the work, respect and pay we gave her. She got her PR and was able to move her kids here thanks to escaping her previous "employer" and because we at her up with a good arrangement.

Summary. If you want a slave - import (and, you're gross).
If you want a rewarding employee caring for the things you care about more than anything, hire from here.
Man.. you should see the domestic helpers here in HK. They work 6 days a week (cleaning, babysitting, cooking, laundry, etc.) with so many rules and shit treatment. On sundays, the helpers are hanging out in public parks/overpasses. Oh, their salary is around 500USD/month.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Have had similar positive experiences with Filipino peeps.

Lots of them are just happy for the opportunities here that they would not have had back home.

However, I do find my interactions with them more superficial and less flexible, particularly in the food industry.

They tend not to be very flexible and follow the playbook/training manual to a tee but maybe it's because I've been spoiled by the white worker who feels that they have more autonomy.

Please follow up with pictures of the hot nanny, if hot.

HK ppl probably ingest the most poop particles from nannies in the entire world. What goes around comes around.
