Hey everyone, my gril entered this contest on a whim - she's fighting Covid depression after launching an experiential marketing business in Feb, and you can imagine how well that's going in a pandemic environment. To our surprise she's doing well in the seeding phase and is currently in the top 3, but we need more votes to push to #1. You just need an FB account to vote - any support would be much appreciated!

The irony here - maxim is running their own experimental marketing with this solid return to form of objectifying females. What is it about vanity that is so exploitable?

If we tapped into beyond's collective power and put the efforts into bolstering your girlfriends new business, not maxim's transparent as fuck hail mary to rejuvenate a dying brand, you might find a pretty valuable return on investment. Probably worth more than the time and effort it's taking to maybe win this $25k.

I don't disagree with you on any of this, and thankfully her self-worth isn't tied to a Maxim contest lol. At this point we've become well aware that $$ is driving the placements more than anything else, I just figured if we can crowd-source legit votes to a large extent, she can get by without having to dump money that Maxim hasn't even provided a % on in terms of how much gets donated to the charity.

I like your idea about tapping into beyond on her actual business. She's also an artist and has organized a couple of shows up here, with the last one cancelled due to pandemic. We aren't seeing a lot of brand work at the moment but I think it's likely to ramp up again, perhaps with some distancing or disinfecting protocols in place. I'm trying to convince her to make an account for herself on here - I'll show her your post as another reason to go for it. Thanks!
