I always felt there was a huge bias to rewarding overconsumption. The USA is the epitome of overconsumption.
White people work better when they are given massive amounts of resources to finish a project, regardless of damage or cost. Asian people work better when they have limited resources.
Give an Asian engineer two cents of electricity and task her with delivering 100 pounds of groceries 10 miles, and she will come up with a solution. The white guy will simply say its not possible or is a stupid idea - just use more fuel.
As for blacks, they are definitely not on the side of overconsumption to achieve goals either. No megaprojects in Africa, no grand schemes. The main problem with overconsumption is that if you burn 2 million tons of fuel to get 100 pounds of iron - is that really helping anyone other than the first person you pay to go get it?
BTW: on two cents per 100 pound delivery, a loaf of bread should cost what? 35 cents? No wonder Galen is a 10 Billionaire. Give an Asian programmer a 16K HDTV video, and they will find a way to put it on a cellular network for 1/100th of a cent. What is the more valuable ability, and has one been oppressively using their weight.
Although I will say that I think that Kanye music is also overvalued at $1 Billion.
