let me guess you and a few others would blame the rape victim for dressing to provocative. In the words of another poster they probably had it coming one way or another. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The police need to be held accountable and to an exceptional standard. It is fair game for the populace at large to both criticize and have appropriate expectations for police, as it is for any public service. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Bandaid is launching new product to match different skin tones? I don't know if this is for or against racism. This is gold, Jerry. It's gold.
It’s funny because they already had a product advertised to do just that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Instead they have a few colors that won’t match my everyones skin tones.

Its known as personal responsibility/accountability, or accepting the consequences of your actions. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This is no longer the case in the media. Every action or inaction, by a perceived 'victim' is excused away as playing any part in their misfortune.
The same analogy applies to the following scenario: If I were to stumble drunk (or even sober) around McLeod Tr at 1am and get hit by a driver, its not my fault at all because I was drunk. The driver should have paid more attention instead.
No one takes responsibility for their actions now.
This is generally the case in Canada - but NOT in the States. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Each State has their own standards for hiring and its very low in many areas. Literally bullies who flunked Highschool, now allowed to wear a uniform. That would never fly in Calgary for eg.

In today's current identity-culture dominated society, people think of "the police" being held accountable rather "a police officer" being held accountable. If we want to move forward tribalism of all kinds needs to start to go away. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yea not a big fan of the RCMP - they have some serious issues internally and its going to get worse as their hiring process starts to pick from the bottom of the pile rather than the top - plus they are losing a lot of good members. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Ponoka with the RCMP traffic members sitting in lawn chairs on the overpass, picking off people going 123 in a 110 zone on a bright sunny day (when the rest of traffic is going 118) - sounds like great policing work to me.
At least they are paying back the city what they are wasting on the overpass sitting around - but wow.

I get the argument you can't have bad apples but we have to remember, they are humans, not robots and humans can be compromised/triggered given the situation/exposure to stuff. What's the solution? Have more females in the force and pair them up so they can use their natural empathy/compassion to defuse these situations?

I think there is an argument to be made that more females in the force would lead to more fatal interactions. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The ladder of escalation is pretty short when the person you are trying to subdue has 100lb on you.

Also there will be a whole new meaning to reaching ticket quotas at that time of the month.
That’s kinda sexist
