Some of you have done NOTHING with your life and you’re mad. You have a college degree & a smart phone with access to virtually *anything* and you can barely get out of bed in the morning while you spit on people who built a whole world with nothing but a horse, map, & axe.
And slaves. Makes that world building a lot easier.

Maybe instead of tearing his statue down, Millennials could choose to be inspired by Edward Colston and take some initiative to create wealth in human trafficking of their own. Or King Leopold II, who had to work his way up from nothing to get into the position to world build in Africa.

Millenials are millenials because they don't have slaves?

    Unique take.

The monuments and statues being ‘cancelled’ were of people who ‘built the world?‘

Tearing down monuments of slavers and hereditary despots is something the personal responsibility and liberty crowd should be celebrating. Apparently chastising such people is a negative leftie idea. But hey, Zerohedge nailed it I guess. It’s a lot easier to “build the world” when you can make money by owning and selling people and having them work for free, something people nowadays can’t really do (at least not be celebrated and immortalized for it).

Articles like that are a bummer, to see somebody so riddled with insecurities that they have to deny the very existence of empathy. Knowing that no matter how much Ayn Rand they read or Ben Shapiro they watch, their house will never be quite big enough to make the feelings of weakness go away. You got to hope they resolve it at the midlife crisis stage, take a sabbatical to do ayahuasca or join one of those Grand Pooba charity clubs or something, otherwise they’re just white knuckling it to the grave, threatening to cut kids out of the will when the grandkids won’t hug them at Christmas. Sad

40 year old white, gay, pansexual?

Should we know your prefered pronouns? I'd hate to see what you'd do with the power of the gay community behind a privileged 40 year old white male.

    Pansexual doesn’t mean gay. Bigot.

I think the article has its merits. It is true that past generations had suffered more with less tools (besides slaves) at their disposal. They've built an empire that is fitting to the rich. And the disparity continues to widen.

Past generations had focused on necessities over entertainment. Food, shelter and basic needs were reasonable to obtain and entertainment was not an affordable luxury. While current generations, we struggle to keep up with inflation and cost of basic needs (ie. housing). While have entertainment at the ease of our finger tips.

Past generations have monopolized basic needs. Therefore, the insecurities and the feeling of unfair system arises. If basic human needs are slowly becoming harder and harder to reach, our animal instincts will kick in and fight for survival.

I have no idea. I am just blurting shit out. #millennial

If only millenials had slaves, they would rule the world!

Do you think it’s easier or harder to build (“the world” or simply wealth) with or without slaves? Who is Edward Colston without slaves?

The statues and monuments being taken down are of slavers, people who fought to preserve slavery, etc. Why are they worth heralding as ‘world builders’ even without the inference that they did it with nothing but their own gumption and an axe in their hand?

Not to mention Boomers and Gen X started the calls to bring a lot of these things down in the first place. It’s just Millennials and Gen Z that have been able to actually do something about it.

I didn't even know officially there are now 2 groups of millenials. Under 30 and under 40.

All of this is basically western world experiencing their own version of Arab Spring and the trolls from Russia and China are just joining in on the fun fanning the flames to take US and allies down a peg on all these human right talks.

Policing sucks and never attracts the best and brightest in the best of time. This will make it way worse in recruiting and even harder to have good officers.

People who bitches about cops in NA or Europe should experience cops in other countries, especially in undeveloped ones.

This article far from nails it. It's the typical millennial-bashing tripe that boomers et all love to revel in because it helps them justify the shit policies they enacted and the results realized. You'd have to be pretty oblivious to think this article even resembles "nailing it".

I'm pretty critical of "boomer policy" overall - a lot to complain about there.

But you can complain about boomer policy and still see the validity in this article - one position does not disqualify the other.

Do you agree agree/ disagree that we live in a world with minimal accountability?

I'm not saying it does. I am saying that the article makes a lot of assumptions and lays down very little facts (or information of any kind, really). It's a giant "millenials suck" piece and I'm surprised that you would think that it nails anything.
