Wouldn't it be great if that was the actual police interaction? Speeding and didn't hurt anyone? Deescalate and warn. That would be the shit. Instead now, if you decide to sleep in your car drunk while you have access to the keys, that's a DUI.
Did we watch the same video? Yes, the full video. Spoiler: He drove there and fell asleep in the drive thru. Ran over a curb trying to park in a simple parking spot. And then goes on to argue about whether or not he was driving. Sure sounds like a guy who deserves a break. Add to that his criminal history. From the videos the cops were incredibly calm, polite, and subdued.

To your reply (I still cant figure out if you are being sarcastic or not) de-escalating a situation means not enforcing it? So why even have cops if they don't enforce laws? Anyone who disagrees with a speeding ticket should just be let off on a warning? I don't understand the logic here.

Also, what happened to personal responsibility? Why is all of the blame on the police when this guy should have just complied with a apparently lawful arrest?

Edit: Just saw your reply. Unfortunately, how you initially perceived the situation is pretty much how the rest of people perceived it. Protests already on the way. All thanks to the media narrative. The damage is done no matter the outcome.

I actually hope all these cops start walking off the job in protest.
The politics and pandering happening is insane.
Flippant or not, I actually think that would be an interesting and possibly valid response from the police. Walking off the job works for many other industries.

I wonder how long it would take to go from "defund the police" to "please come back".
I can eat more hot wings than you.

Yup. I’ve called out the media. I’ve called out friends and family. I should’ve known better before I posted.

I think we will find out in some cities in the USA.

This article far from nails it. It's the typical millennial-bashing tripe that boomers et all love to revel in because it helps them justify the shit policies they enacted and the results realized. You'd have to be pretty oblivious to think this article even resembles "nailing it".
As someone who lives in the city that created “CHAZ”, I feel like this article really does describe a lot of what I see.

Personal accountability has severely dropped off.

Everyone should have a questioning attitude, however the questions have to be inwardly directed.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Anyone see this article? It may expand to car parts,

    "'Slave cylinder' no more."

The benefit of masks is not known at this time. But we do know it is some non-trivial amount more than zero.

We also know that the cost of mask use is, essentially, zero.

So the cost:benefit of mask use is approaching infinity. I'll take that every time. And every time I see someone without a mask, I think they are stupid.

Slave cylinder has been banned in California for a decade already. Same with master and slave hard drive positions.

I see the terms used regularly in the automation world. Not likely going away any time soon in my opinion.

Maybe I will need to think twice about the next time a 40yo white guy uses the term during an acceptance or commissioning ... /s

    Damn, I had no idea.

I'm gonna need to compile a glossary of whitelisted terms.

I’m offended at your use of the term whitelist. Bigot.

I work in an industry where we plaster cartoons of teenage Swedish girls taking it from behind across the side of trucks.

I think I have a few years left yet with coloured language

If it means we can ban the French language from Canada, for using grammatical genders, I'm all for it.
