Heh. They probably decided that to do business with the USA they would have to settle for inferior network equipment. As a guess.

As a white person I've decided to take no offence to your whitey comment.

    Let this be known.

I wonder when they are going to rename 5G? You know marketing teams have to at this point.

As a recently self identified Samoan, I have decided that I don't have a stance on this matter.

Don’t bell and Telus normally partner to build their network, seems like the same scenario this time around, there’s really nothing else to say about it

They did that for the CDMA switchover to GSM to avoid bankrupting themselves.

Pretty sure next gen network is standalone, though all the majors have roaming agreements anyway.

Sounds like Telus already has some Huawei crap buried in its rollout that will take a while to remove, but they have permission to use it for the time being. Ericsson for all the radios and new shit though. Looks like Telus is going to be a combo of Ericsson and Nokia actually. Bell 100% Ericsson?

Got to be a pretty big deal getting this for Ericsson?

Anyone know who Rogers is using?

    Rogers is using Ericsson.
Telus also yesterday announced that they are going with Ericsson and Nokia.

I am pretty sure that Bell and Telus will continue to share the network.

WhitePOWER: Canada's most powerful wireless network

They could even use some white lightning bolts for the logo to symbolize the speed of it

Well, there is no way Ericsson will produce enough gears in Texas to supply beyond US deployment.

Chances are our equipment is probably coming from the Nanjing factory.

Love to be fly on the wall on what makes them finally dropped Hauwei after billions of investment/testing.

The fact that we even let Huawei get as far as they did is a travesty. Hilarious to think we would essentially let the Chinese government build out our communications infrastructure, lol.

Well, our 4G is basically all Huawei end to end country wide. It's simple economics. 1/2 the price, twice the services. When you have a bunch of engineers working 996 (ie 6 12s), firmware revisions and fixes comes out almost 2x faster than Ericsson and problem is solved 2x faster compared to 5 8s work week of western world.

Roger's network is shittier than Telus. Now we only have Ericsson/Nokia gear from all 3 vendors.

Ask Nortel what the true cost of working with Huawei is, though.
