I simply want someone to right the injustices of the Alberta New Home Warranty sham.

Anyone considering not retiring in Canada? I have dual citizenship (Canada/Poland) and will most likely GTFO here when I retire. Canadian dollar in Poland goes 2x or 3x as far. Healthcare etc pretty comparable to here.

I love Canada and would likely stay. If I could buy something in Canmore or the west edge of the city that would be perfect. Spend many days hiking, biking, and enjoying the mountains. Take up skiing in the winters and still lots of winter hikes to do, at least while I can.

Why would you ever want to leave the 'best city in the Western Hemisphere'?

Except to go to the 4 better cities in the Eastern Hemisphere which have their own flaws:
    1) Vienna - Racists
    2) Melbourne - Racists
    3) Sydney - Racists
    4) Osaka - Racists

I'll be honest, I'm not thinking about these retirement income projections at all. Maybe when I am 45+ I'll get a better idea of how I want to spend my money.
But until then, just save as much as you can and deal with the "nice to have problem" later.

As long as you have a plan on what you want to invest in and how you are growing your money until retirement, the actual amount shouldn't matter because it is all about your personal capabilities.

After calculating the wages needed for my crew to run my super yacht and other expenses like arm candy and copious drugs, looks like about $1,000,000/mo.

Enjoying your retirement is very very important

Haha if you further explore the site and actually see who Rap on and Ride out actually are, a biker gang would be the last thing in your mind. lol

always thought you were asian lol

but yes, we are considering living 6 months here and 6 months in Asia/Philippines where you can live for cheap.

for those budgetting 4k-10k month, are those for only the essentials (utility, insurance, health care, food) or includes travel/hobby as well.

We are going to retire in Canada. I have health concerns that require access to specialists. However, we are looking at moving to St. Catherine's or somewhere else in Southern Ontario with a more favorable climate. We also have family in the GTA so there's that.

We thought about BC but if I'm going to move, figure it makes more sense to live near my dad who will be approaching 70 by the time we get outta here.

We have friends in New Zealand and Australia, and not going to lie, I am actively looking at moving near Auckland. If I can make that happen... fuckin' see ya.

We want to retire in NZ, but the requirements seem to make it pretty difficult:

"To retire in New Zealand, the first choice would be the New Zealand Parent Retirement visa. This option allows you to live, work and study in New Zealand permanently, but you need a New Zealand citizen or resident adult child willing to sponsor you. To be eligible, you will need a yearly income of NZ$60,000, NZ$1 million to invest over 4 years, and another NZ$500,000 to live on. You may then apply for permanent residence after 4 years. You may include your partner in this application."

It's unclear if you need to agree to spend all that money over a certain time period, or just show up with it. Also unclear if you need to maintain a job with the specified income, or if your RRSPs will count.

I have cousins there though so I would have a sponsor.

Plan B would be Victoria/Van Island probably.

It all depends if USD is still the world reserve by then. Given how close eastern europe is so tied to Russia and China, table may have turned as we become the cheap nation to retire in.

I kinda looked into retiring in Spain. Seem cheap too.

NZ is amazing. I have family down there, and spent 4 months back in university. my #1 country to live in if I ever leave Canada. Southern Ontario on the other hand, fuck hard no. I hate crowds and humidity and "laurentian elites".

I’ve seen a lot of FB ads saying they need IT/technology people. If you’re in that field could be an easier path to citizenship
