    Default Horizontal fence

I'm debating on doing a horizontal cedar fence on the main side (street view) of our house. Theres about 14ft to go, with 3 sections and one of those is a 5ft gate. So 4.5 / 4.5 /5. With a pretty decent grade decline from the hoise to the fence.

Thoughts on a seamless look of doing horizontal cedar boards and screwing them into the face of the posts. This way you don't see the posts from the streets.

I'm pretty fn tired from landcaaping the house so tell me I'm nuts or its a good idea.

Oh and it match our cedar hot tub enclosure also which is on the same side.

I built a privacy wall on my deck the same way. I like it still. Only thing I did was stagger the boards inside / outside. I think it gives it a cleaner look.

Might want to just also check if there are any homeowner standards in your neighbourhood. Unlikely to be an issue unless someone complains, but in our area everyone had to do the same kind of fence. It was all specified in the purchase documents. Type of fence, height, etc. Of course we built in '05, so if someone put up a new fence today I doubt anyone would say jack.

Seems to be the trend. If you drive through Rosedale over half the new fences are horizontal and they look great.

So I ended up doing and it and turned out great! Now to build something similar to cover up the AC and piping.

    That's quite the diagonal fence.

Looks good! But don’t cover up or build too much around the A/C unit. It needs airflow.

Thinking of just building small wall in front of all of it. Just something so you can't see the cluster from the street.
