For some reason that seems expensive for this current market. 3 year old car with 30k+ mileage with undesirable speedo and CUE entertainment system. $40k max.
What about this one? Mmmm smurf yeah

Yikes 87k mileage? Hell no. The ATS-V is a better deal in comparison.
Also I would be really worried about whether or not the head gasket recall was done properly. I bought mine new so I have all of it documented and was in the loop of everything that went on.

I am going to be "that guy" and disagree with many here. There are plenty of quick cars out there (or cars you could make quick relatively cheap) for 50k. This holds especially true for luxury vehicles which have gone through their main depreciation cycle. The one caveat is that you would probably have to look for something a few years old.

My XFR is a good example of this even though it isn't a car that fits the bill for you. It hasn't even turned 70k on the odo. Was a 100k car when new but I picked it up for 19k. 510 horsepower and 0-60 as low as 4.5 seconds. Add a tune and pulley to make close to 600hp.

Again, this was the right car for me but I use it as an example of how some such cars are out there if you are selective. BMW and Audi make cars (coupes) which respond extremely well to cheap tunes as well as have reasonable aftermarket support. Buy a 2 series or an S series Audi, add a tune and maybe IC and you have a car that would blow my XFR out of the water for 35k.

Maybe a bit high. Missing some of the expensive options like Recaro’s and carbon fibre. But it’s also a manual car. Not a lot of good manual sport sedans to buy these days so if it could be had for $40K it would be a steal in my books!

I am impressed that after owning the CTR for 1.5 year, gas mileage is awesome! in the 7-8L/100 km range, can't think of any 300+ HP sports car can do that
I'm cheating with hybrid but I'm averaging about 8L/100km with 430hp.

Focus RS is a great sports car for <$50k, just not that focus RS, it's def overpriced. My buddy just got an '18 in this color, loaded only 6k km on it. Revised suspension tuning, better option set, and paid low 40s for it.

@RT16V is it even possible to get these without recaros and CF? I thought they all had these options (i.e. they were only options on the ST, standard on RS).

Great price on that '18! Only thing I don't like is they give it a black spoiler. Looks weird.

He misquoted. He was talking about the ATS-V.

Yeah, sorry, I was referring to the ATS-V on my comment re: Recaro’s and CF. Both are options on that car. Not sure about the RS.

Huh. Base Supra now comes with a 255hp I4 for $56k CAD, and the 6-cyl has been bumped up to 382hp for $67k.

Yeah, but your XFR is older than the 3 year max, per the topic of the thread.

If you're looking for a "sports car" on a $50k budget, a 3 year max is really going to neuter the quality of your options, but that's the thread...

I'd rock that XFR but I made the same mistake with the C6Z recommendation, too old. I'm now wondering if anything but a 2 door, 2 seater should qualify? Have we defined what a "sports car" is?
    I like neat cars.

Well it's becoming apparent that a 2 door, 2 seater is not a definitive sports car anymore. For the most part, gone are the days of small, lithe 2 door, 2 seater like MGB's, 240's, Alfa Romeo Spyders, Lancia Zagato Spyders, X1/9's, RX7's and early generation Corvettes.

That seems like a rather small number for $56K.

Agreed. IMO both models need to drop $10K off MSRP to be worth any consideration in the new car market.

Beats a 718 and M2 in a C&D comparison. Did lose to a Mustang though.

Not under $50k, even if it should be.

S4 is a great car as someone mentioned above. But then gotta factor in the Stinger GT as well.
