    Default Broken Strut Mount?

Not a huge car guy, so you guys will have to forgive me. But I hit a bumpy road the other night and proceeded to hear a clunking noise from the back of car on the driver's side afterwards. Checked and it appears that the Upper Bearing Mount has physically broken off from the screws.

How would you guys go about fixing this? Replace the mount? Replace the whole strut? Superglue?? Would appreciate any help.

Will have to replace that for sure. You might want to look in to replace both rears at a minimum. All 4 would be best.

Oh and buy some penetrating oil before trying to take off those nuts.

Is that a Mazda3/5? Replace the rear mounts (not too big a deal) and then ANTISEIZE the new ones to prevent corrosion from getting up there for as long as possible. These are cheap aluminum cast metal that will easily bust. I've replaced these in 2 Mazda vehicles.

Yep that exact same mount broke on my Mazda 5 few years ago.

Take that to a shop. Bolts that corroded are not the friend of a casual, backyard mechanic

^ I cleaned the threads with a wire brush as best as possible and then let it soak overnight in penetrant. Was a little sketch but it came out eventually. Replacing the stud is definitely a lot less fun.
