Default OBDII port dead? Diagnostic ideas?

My tow rig threw a code, which isn't uncommon. I usually plug in my OBDII reader and make sure it's not something worrisome, clear it, and forget about it.
Today, my OBDII reader isn't connecting to the truck at all. Have verified that it still works by connecting to the always reliable Honda odyssey, and no issues, so I think this is a truck thing.
Truck is 2010 Chev Silverado 2500 6.0L gas engine, if any of that matters.

Thoughts? I'm not too worried because truck is running great as usual. But eventually I'll need that code cleared.

IIRC the OBD power is possibly related to the cigarette lighter fuse or something simple like that.

Wow that would make a lot of sense because of of the cigarette lighters doesn't work now. Nice. I will investigate.

Otherwise hit up Auto Value they scan for free. But with COVID who knows if they are doing that service still.

^^ as mentioned, definitely check you cigarette lighter fuse. I had the same issue with the OBDII port not receiving power and this was the solution in my case.
I have a 2006 GMC, which I think has a similar setup to your 2010 chev. I'm sure you still have your fuse diagram to reference your specific vehicle... but if it helps: on mine the fuse I needed was located under the hood (not under the steering column), and this was labeled 'aux power' 20A needed to be replaced as my cigarette lighter had shorted out.

edit: I'm too slow, looks like you got enough info already

You sir, are the fucking man. Yep, replace one 20a fuse and both the OBDII port and the drivers side cigarette lighter work now. $6 pack of fuses and I have spares in case it happens again.

Well this is weird. That same fuse blew again, and I haven't been powering anything more than a phone charger off that cigarette lighter port.

What, in the actual fuck, could be causing this? @Twin_Cam_Turbo any ideas? I have a pack of fuses, and marked the correct one in the fuse box with tape so it's easy to find, but I don't want to have to replace weekly.

Maybe a short to ground somewhere in the circuit? There’s no coins jammed in the cigarette lighter plug at the bottom is there?
