    Default STOLEN: 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4X4 (See Pictures Of Theft And Truck)

    So my friends truck was stolen and the theft and the entire incident was caught by ring camera outside on his front driveway.

    I'm posting on here in hope's that someone can't identify the culprits involved in this.

    June 15, 2020 at 5:25am in the Hidden Valley NW quadrant of Calgary

    Truck Details:
    2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4x4
    Color Dark Grey with a Dark Green Tailgate

    Suspect is believed to be associated with car prowlings also

    GM keys of that era don't vary much. My keys would probably open tons of doors around town. So getting in is easy, you just have to find the truck that matches your key.

    I didn't think they worked in the ignition though. I don't know why they wouldn't, I just assumed they wouldn't.

    It's been an issue with Chevy's for years. The keys/tumblers wear out and the keys can fit and even unlock/start other vehicles.

    And I recall hearing that for the longest time, chip keys weren't a requirement in 3/4 ton and higher vehicles. That's why the early to mid 2000s Ford Superduty tops the charts as the most stolen truck.
