I can't do a sport bike anymore. I wanna take my kid and wife around sometimes. 759 on a sport bike is alot, not on a cruiser that weighs double or more.
It’s not a weight thing most of the time but an inefficient Harley motor that causes the need for all that displacement... to make a whopping 65hpThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But seriously... adventure bike... BMW or KTM

They are called HARDLYS for a reason. Bikes meant for a specific image (sport bikes have their own specific image).
Not my thing. Again, comfy for 2. Anyways, tomorrow I'm going to check out a bike. If it goes through, I'll throw up some pics. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Wtf isn’t comfy for two on those?? They’re even well over 1000ccThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've never found them that comfortable for one. Plus I think they're ugly lol im a cruiser or sport bike guy, nothing else, they've just never been my thing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Holy freaking smokes. That BMW has 172K+ kms?! I don't think I've ever seen a bike with that much mileage. That shit was definitely used properly - unlike my 200 (if that) km's a season. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They’re design for the big road trips, hit the highway or the forestry roads... spend all day on em and not be (that) sore! An adventure is on my list... but I kinda want something more in the dual sport realm... thinking the KTM 790 adventure R might be the ticketThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Ill bet that bike like that has seen most of North America. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I read the book by Neil Peart (Rush drummer) - Ghostrider - and he had one of these models that he took all the way up to Alaska if memory serves (and toured around most of North America as well).

I envy the people that can just hop on their bikes and do massive tours on the regular or drives in vehicle I guess. Just people that have the time and financial freedom I guess..I kinda envy.
Mod should change the title to "If you had 5k for a cruiser", since nothing else is getting any consideration haha.
This. I'm on an adventure bike now after a couple super sports, a bobbed kawi, and now a triumph tiger. Its amazing for distance and versatility. I went with the Triumph because I had a Daytona and I love the engine. So this has a sport bike feel on power delivery and smoothness, heated seats, grips, cruise control, ABS, trac control, I get 350+km per tank, and they look badass. Riding gravel and backroads is fun, you can ride out some where, have some real fun, and ride home with no issuesThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ya i guess. I found one anyways. Be riding tomorrow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Why do you need such a big CC bike? Ive had crotch rocket and cruiser. The point of a cruiser is comfort, stability and long rides. If its speed you want, a 1000cc R1 would be much better anyways.

I've ridden an 1100 and it was lacking any real punch. Just the same as wanting the m3 instead if the 328i. I dont want to have to upgrade. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Odd, I've had both a cruiser and a sport bike and I found the sport bike to be way more comfortable for long highway mileage days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Which bike? I cannot stand my balls pressed up against the gas tank for even 30 minutes. #bigballsproblem Neck pain after 20 minutes of riding. While on my cruiser, I can sit on it for a long time with no balls or neck pain. However, the droning exhaust on my cruiser can cause long term hearing loss lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oh keep in mind traffic jams too. Going and stopping on a sport bike is much more tiring.

You have to realize that my motorbiking days were over 3 decades ago, a sport bike back then would probably be a sport tourer these days. 1983 XJ750MK and 1985 FZ750N for reference. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Lol those are def quite different than the modern day crotch rockets. Those feel more like a street bike in todays standard. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
