Lol those are def quite different than the modern day crotch rockets. Those feel more like a street bike in todays standard.
I know but in those days the FZ was the sport bike that Yamaha had for the masses.

You have to realize that my motorbiking days were over 3 decades ago, a sport bike back then would probably be a sport tourer these days. 1983 XJ750MK and 1985 FZ750N for reference.
Oh good lord - even a bike from the 90s in no way compares to whats avail now in terms of performance, safety (if there is such a thing on a bike) and comfort from the various models out now.

A last gen Honda Viffer was on my short list for a while - VTEC yo, ABS, linked brakes, etc.

I'll throw a wildcard in here. Buell XB12. Saw one of those the other day and just made me remember how badass they looked. Oil in the swingarm and all.

It's almost like you didn't even read a single post from the OP; just the title and replied.

Thanks @Skrilla , few things I have planned, LED head/fogs, new head unit, integrated tail light, rear seat/bracket and passenger foot peg delete, 21" front wheel, shorty exhaust and hard bags.

I already have hard bags, but the bracket is modified to sit quite low, so the long shots have to get replaced with shortys.

Don't know if you're familiar with them but check out Fortnine for your parts first. Canadian, fast shipping and easy returns. I use them a lot, never had any issues. They may not have all that you need but worth a check! Post up your progress, would love to see how it turns out!

Ya i took a look at fortnine, they seem to have decent prices. I used to work for Parts Canada years ago and I still have some contacts there, so im able to get a few things a year through them for really cheap.

Probably a yamaha Raider, or a Suzuki M109. Those two are muscle cruisers, and quite, quite fast for what they are. Very very comfortable bikes too. Look them up on YouTube.

Edit, whoops. Congrats on the purchase, killer bike!

LOL little slow on the draw @Graham_A_M . I thought about both of those bikes, but I wanted something better suited for touring.

Ironically, my wife has now said, she may never get on it with me, so i could have bought one of them lol either way, im going to switch it to a solo bike and if she wants to get on, I can still throw everything on.
