We are close to 7 months with our little guy and he still does not like sleeping. For about a month or so in between he was sleeping somewhat at okay at nights at least but that hasn’t been the case for a while either. During the day putting him for naps is a mission and he only sleeps when he is in our arms. The moment you put him down he wakes up and cries. And since he doesn’t sleep much (except after a day or two of being overtired) he’s typically cranky during the day and only does short 30-40 mins naps in the arms. It is what it is at this point, just gotta suck it up and deal with it. We will likely look into a nanny soon but wife doesn’t trust anyone but herself and me to deal with him when he’s being particularly difficult. Just gotta keep pushing through, he’s gotta stop at some point.
Took us two years with our oldest. She still needs me to go in there almost every night. I guess she has extremely enlarged addenoids... she can barely breath at night through her nose and wakes up alot.

On the wait list to get them removed / reduced for 4+ months now. Apparantly its a super quick and easy surgery although it does require sedation. Fucking AHS

8pm to 5am sounds about right for when our kids were that small. Mornings are always disorienting but getting at least 6-7 hours sleep was good. Middle of the night, and early, wake ups don't go away, they just get less frequent. I understand when they are older it becomes more about being kept up then got up early.

Also, I will echo that children are chaos, just that chaos changes over the years. It's strange too because you long for the past chaos, because you had eventually figured that out just as a new chaos comes along that you don't understand at all.

Likely going to jinx it all to shit....

Our 2.5 year old sleeps 7pm-7am every school night and 7pm-8:30am on the weekends (she used to go till 9am or later). She also naps in the afternoon for a consistent ~2 hours as long as we dont miss start time around 12:30/1:00. She was napping for closer to 3 hours up to a few months ago. Outside of a few poor nights due to being sick and/or teething she sleeps through the night consistently.

And our 2.5 month old has started sleeping ~9pm-6:30am pretty damn consistently as well (with a dream feed, or whatever they call it, around 11pm).

    - Sleep sack (toddler is out of this obviously)
    - White noise machine
    - Kept nice and toasty warm with a few layers
    - Profit!

Oof, you're going to pay for that when they're older now...

As soon as we decided 2 was enough, appointment was booked.

What a funny process though, have to wait a full month after initial consultation to actually book your snip date, AHS rules. I was asked so many times every step of the way if I was sure I wanted to go through with it.

Really? I had a consultation with a South African doctor in Copperfield or Mahogany or something like that and I could have gotten in to get it snipped in 1.5 weeks. The only time I have heard of that is a buddy who got his in his late 20's because he was so young. His wife almost died during the birth of his second child so he was pretty damn sure.

I feel like they have a list of questions, and your wait depends on the answers. I was the "no need to wait" result.

My doc referred me to snip doc. Went for consult, snip doc told me I had to wait 1 month as it is AHS rules. Got snipped day 32 or something like that.

Either way, that was my experience with it. Consult in Nov, snip in December.

We are definitely one and done. We always talked about that before having him, but him being the way he is it’s just made it a 100% thing. Even the wife doesn’t want another kid as she says she can’t risk that kid to be like this guy as she’s gonna check herself into a mental hospital. Lol.

All that being said, fuck getting snipped. I ain’t doing that. Fuckin talking about is giving me weird pain tinglies. lol

Its okay Shak, lots of guys are too scared to do it. Even if that fear is misplaced.

If you pay a few bucks extra, there isn't a waiting period. Worth it!

Painless procedure Shak, me and the doc were having a conversation while he was getting the job done. In and out of the office in less than 45 minutes haha. Procedure was a fraction of the time spent there.

Now the next few days, not painless but totally manageable. Definitely have to take it easy though.

Yeah this is the first I’ve heard of a waiting period haha. Just call up ol’ dr crause at intramed, get on the cancellation list and it’ll be done within the week I bet.
