Lots of people will get the ikea beds then "mod" them. The Sundvik is a good one for kids with the legs chopped off. We have the Minnen for my daughter and its pretty low.
Might be more useful in Gaza no?

I am looking to improve my kids bedroom/sleeping situation. Currently my 3.5 year old sleeps on a queen mattress just on the floor (he used to spin 1080 and move around alot when sleeping so we kept it simple incase he fell off). Looking for a SLAMMED bed frame + headboard option. Something that will keep mattress low to floor. Any suggestions are appreciated.
We have our youngest on a queen on the floor too. No rush to get it in a frame. Who cares what it looks like is our thoughts. Plus the 3 y/o and 1 y/o love playing in there during the day, hiding under blankets, etc. Bed frames are purely for aesthetics imo, f em (For our kid only.. i have one of course )

What are you guys using to blackout room? West facing. Window has cellular blinds. Light is peeking through the sides. So ideally something to totally seal the window frame.

Our nanny away for Xmas holidays. I've been putting in dad duty. Got the baby from being rocked and held while sleeping, to zero rocking, and sleeping within just a few minutes with a quick walk around the room and then being placed on bed. Did this within a matter of a few days. Repeating the same process nap after nap and cutting down the time. I walk. Feelsgoodman.jpg

And now we await the 4 month regression and teething.....

Perfect sleeping conditions are the enemy not a benefit.

I have thought about this as well. She is sleeping well with light creeping in. May just keep it going as is.

You can cut a piece of cardboard to fit the window frame and pressure fit it in. Alternatively, large black construction paper and painter tape to hold it in.

Edit: if she’s sleeping, don’t change anything.

Sweet jesus. Teach me. I spent hours these last 2 nights fighting her to get down for sleep. Rocking + patting did not work. We're at .... 3.5 months ish. I think we're also mid-growth spurt. She's waking up constantly to eat.

I've passed the 5 hr mark trying to get kid to sleep for the night. She went down twice for 30 minutes (wakes after each sleep cycle) and now won't sleep at all. RIP

You know in the martix where that little bald kid says "There is no spoon"? yeah putting kids to bed is like that. you have to understand what you do control and what you do not. You can control how and when you put the kid to bed. you cannot control if the kids goes to sleep. You really can't.

We started sleep training last night. She's taking to it okay for naps. Less so for overnights. We're doing a gentler pick up/put down approach. She cried for over an hour the first night of doing it.

We have white noise, because I like sleeping with it anyways, but less perfect light conditions, which as stated here, is okay.

I probably posted about it before but we sleep trained our kids. When my son was ~2 he had a major regression and decided he didn’t want to go to bed, and yelled every time we left the room. Eventually I stopped trying to come back and comfort him, and the first night he spent the entire night standing. He literally slept standing up. Threw his arms over the side of the crib in the corner so he was supported on his armpits, hung onto his blanket and just dozed off like that. Woke up every 30min or so, bitched a bit, then went back to sleep standing.

Thank god it only lasted for a day that way and he came to his senses. Ffwd to now he’s 3.5, sleeps in his queen size bed, and never leaves his room until someone comes to get him.

Thanks for posting. This helps. We did absolutely everything possible and she slept 15 to 20 mins at a time only. She fell asleep for a lengthy period of time in the am. 7am.

We had to re-sleep train our daughter when she hit 2.5. Pretty much the exact same routine as normal sleep training, but with a few extra steps. Routine and consistency were key.

One thing which really helped was purchasing a programmable child's clock that shows the moon when it's bedtime, and lights up when it's time for her to get up. She was really excited to have "her very own clock" and we practiced wake-ups to get her accustomed to it, and reward her wake-up behaviour. Now she goes to bed easy (literally hopping off my lap and putting herself to bed as soon as it's "moon-time") and sleeps the full-night through. If she wakes up early, she'll lay in bed awake and play with her animals until "her clock is green."
