Up-badging a car has always perplexed me, whether it's a family SUV or otherwise...
The majority of people that would be impressed by the higher badge (i.e. M, AMG or RS) know enough about cars to know and spot the differences, so they're not impressed... Most everyone else doesn't give a shit. So the only thing you accomplish ranges from indifference to ridicule.
